Just got my Joye 510 kit - could not be any more confused

You can, but don't have to.
Most people like to have tons of carts on hand, but it's not really needed.
You can just keep reusing the same ones over and over..

Personally, I only have 10 carts.


If you don't like the flavor in the stock carts, and you have some juice to use..
Pull out the filler material (carefully, don't tear it up).
Rinse it with water
Pat it dry with a paper towel

Empty and clean the cart with a paper towel.

Fill up your cart about 3/4
Carefully/slowly put the filler back in
Top off with a few drops until it looks "slushy"

I know what you're saying about the taste. I had the same reaction with the carts that come with the 510. Trust me, most other flavors don't have that taste. I don't even smoke them anymore, I just take them throw away the filler and juice that's in there and then repack them and refill them. So, you're not getting anything different than I did... it just has a... weirdishly sweet smell to it and a weird aftertaste.

After I throw the old filler away, clean the cart out, repack, and refill it that taste is gone. You're not alone in that one.

Marlb high is jsut 'dekang marlb flavor' at high strength nic (I think its 26mg)
I wasnt keen on it but it gve u a chance to practice vaping without wasting hte 'good' liquids.

MB high sounds like TW. If it's TW then it's 18mg. I believe their extra is 24mg.

Get through the learning curve before you potentially waste some good juice!

Took me about a month of practice and lots of reading before I got comfortable.

We all experience difficulties at first (blown attys, bad burnt primer taste, burnt fillers, floods etc.)

Once you are through the learning curve you'll be in heaven!

As others have said, don't toss the carts. They can be moded with various fillers like Tea Bags, fluval(poly) and other stuff that is easy to find. Or you can just clean the filler as others have said and reuse it. I have had attys that had a bad taste for a whole day, then it went away. You can try soaking the atty in Crest Pro Health mouthwash for an hour or so, then rinse it well, blow it out and add some juice to the bridge. Also, if you don't want to waste your juice you can get some VG at the drug store, mix a little water or vodka w. it and vape that until you get the hang of it. No nic, but it does work. You can even add some vanilla(or other flavor) to the VG to flavor it.

Hey Roll, I just received my 510 in the mail on Wednesday. I've been having nothing but headaches trying to figure the thing out. I was experiencing very little vapor that tasted horrible. I tried adding drops to the cart, blowing out the atomizer and even tried dripping. Done of them helped. It continued to taste like junk with a very uncomfortable th.

I finally said screw it and tossed a new atomizer on the battery. I went straight to dripping into the atty. Gave it a few short puffs with no inhale to warm it up. I then took a nice steady drag of about 3 - 5 seconds. It produced a nice vapor with FLAVOR!!!! I now have some faith in this unit haha.

I scratched it up as a bad atomizer. I tossed it into the trash. Have you tried another atomizer? Maybe you are having the same issue? Goodluck!

Glad to know it's not just me; awful, awful, awful taste. Looking forward to trying something different, but like a dummy the only liquid I got at first was the Menthol.

Does 26mg equate to about a Marlb Red? Trying to figure out what the mg is for a light cig, since that is what I am used to.

Cartomizer=atty+cart all in one piece. Yes they do sell them, they usually come prefilled, check out some of the suppliers.

26mg of nic would be close to Marlboro Red. Be carefull about going too low. I have smoked lights for close to 30 years and was not happy with the lower nic levels. I would try just 'thinning' out what you have a bit by adding a couple drops of VG or PG.

Dont try and 'equate' nic juice with what you smoked - it varies for everyone, even among those who smoked the same brands. Some of us like the lower nic, others cant get by without the higher.
Experiment - if you get a headache or upset tummy then its too high.
If you feel like you're about to go postal on your neighbor because he said 'good morning' then its too low
You will find YOUR right level pretty quickly - most people start between 24-36mg unless they didnt smoke a lot to begin with. I was ultralights, PAD (2 at weekends), and started at 24mg, then went down quickly to 16, then 12 which is where I am now. I vape a lot so I prefer the 12mg but 16mg is ok (so is 24 if its just a hit or 2).
Get the hang of vaping, then work on your personal 'right' level of nic.

Yes, you can soak it in Crest Pro Health mouthwash, vodka, polident or some other light solvent of your choosing. Then rins it out, prime it and try it again. Also, is it a LR atty? If not sure, check on the bottom of the batt conector to see if there is a small LR on it. If so, they will run hot.

It appears to be a standard atomizer. I contacted Shawn at Zig Cig. He asked for me to ship the atomizer back and he'll replace it for me along with 5 prefilled carts. So i am happy.

Nope, you need 510 specific cartos.

At cignot.com there's a 510 guide pdf written by DonDaBoomVape. Highly suggested reading. Sounds like you may have overheated that first atty, then flooded it. Getting juice out of the cart onto your lips (or getting a "mouthful") definitely means flooding... when that happens, I always blow out the atty AND blow out the cart, to get any droplets out that might be in the pathways the vape takes. If you flooded it, no need to drip on the atty after you've blown out the excess... the cart probably already has enough juice in it (I mean, it flooded, right?)

I don't use cartos, but be sure that they specifically say "510". If in doubt, email the supplier and confirm before you spend money. Oh, and see if there are any reviews of the supplier on the forum, too.

Ok, here we are a day later and I feel better already . You guys have been fantastic, every single post here has been helpful.

I took the advice of cleaning out the pre loaded cards and letting them air dry. This morning I started fresh with the Menthol liquid I ordered; I can see now that I didnt pay enough attention to all the "What to start with posts" and I should have gotten more flavors, but they have been ordered and should be here next week.

Noticed right away the taste was different, that nasty Dekang stuff is what was putting me off; this ECOPure menthol is not that good to me either, but I can tell the difference in flavor. So I am optimistic about the future and can't wait for my new bottles to show up!

In the mean time I am going to get me some Pyramid Tea Bags, that mod looks awesome.
