I agree with you about customer service, but my definition of great customer service isn't fancy packaging or freebies.

As I stated before - 2 different things.

But overall its first the website - then the shipping - packaging - then the product and all along communication and customer service.

The packaging is just a side note but an important element.

It's the communication and culture that killed it for me in the end!

The juice will be greatly missed once I run out though!

When Gandalf steeps it turns into the infamous "Cherrydalf". A very deep rich cherry flavor comes out after a two week steep. With dark horse it doesn't change much other than it sweetens up and has a nice natural honey banana taste(to me at least).

I've got about 5mls of Gandalf (started as a 30ml bottle) that is pushing 2.5 months, and it doesn't have a hint of cherry to it at all, and never has. I have yet to get any of this Gandalf that has any cherry flavor or aroma to it...

B&B is actually on my order list for next time!

I want to try The Plume Room soon too! The Cavendish review that Robin did made me want it bad! Now! he he he

So the cocoa dissapears? I cant even imagine what it will be! Cocoa is all i taste now so I swapped over to dark horse.

Is Gandalf a cameleon like AiV's White Rabbit?

It depends on taste but for me and everyone else I know the chocolate turns into a sweet dark tobacco. I am much like you in the sense that I like Gandalf unsteeped and steeped. I always vape it fresh.

and it certainly is a cameleon. I actually haven't tried WR yet but I literally just placed an order for it today. Now I am even more excited to hear it changes upon aging.

Hmm. That's a first. Heather obviously doesn't put any cherry in it. With nets different flavors tend to come out but it depends of how long the extraction was, the tobacco used, and many other factors. But out of everyone I have talked to both in person and on the forums, they all agree that a cherry note comes out of gandalf after steeping, hence the nickname cherrydalf. YMMW

Different people perceive the sweetness in it...well, differently. Some say cherry. I didn't, but it was verrry good, regardless. I actually liked Legend (formerly known as Gandalf) in the early weeks, the best. Thought it was great right out of the mailbox, in fact. Still very good regardless of how old it was.

Precisely.

I experience a similar situation with Dark Horse. Everyone said it tasted "Just like a marlboro light". I only tasted honey and tobacco. Not that I expect any juice to taste like burning paper and tobacco but I tasted a really sweet honey tobacco.

Are you talking about "Gandalf 1"? I have only tried the current G blend and Serindipity. I am interested in trying the original version(or the "Grey"). ;)

I'm talking about the current Legend (formerly known as Gandalf). They have changed the names of some of their juices. No longer using LOTR character names for legal reasons. I have never tried their original Legend (formerly known as original Gandalf).

OH MY GOD. My soul is crushed. As minimal of a change as it is I feel like they just changed the voice of my favorite character in one of my childhood cartoons. It's going to take some getting used to calling Gollum, Gandalf, and shadowfax sludge, legend, and shadow. Atleast the blend is the same. "LEGEND" is my all day vape.

I presume with the release of The hobbit it made the copyright spotlight shine closer in their direction. Thanks for letting me know though. That would've confused me.

Hmm. I wonder why they couldn't just spell the name differently or alter it slightly rather than change it completely. Many vendors have done that with Newport, camel, and Marlboro juices.

EDIT: Guess it's time to change my signature...

I know, it is sad. it all came down at a time when they have been so busy with new customers, too. Having to fret about a C&D order regarding the names and changing the website, labels and whatever else had to be quite an undertaking in such a short time. Same great premium juice at reasonable prices, though. Say what you will about fancy packaging and famous names, you can't vape packaging and names but you can vape the great juice.

Believe me, when you've tried your current flavors, and reorder, you'll be jumping over the moon as soon as get your HHV vapemail in your hands, because the brain and the eye will only see liquid gold dazzling you and blinding you with its brilliance and purity :D

Yeah - I am sure I will try many more.

The juice is great! Was just a bit dissapointed with the presentation of the product. The bottles, lables, plain ugly yellow envelope and lack of any samples or note. (even a 1.5ml sample would have been something to make me smile and feel *special*warm*fuzzy*

But I guess all that doesn't matter once the delicious juice is in the tank.

It just misses the opportunity to wow the customer from the moment it arrives and even though the product is fabulous it won't be as exciting to receive as a fanceejuice or aliceinvapeland delivery. The appearance just lacks love and care. But the product definatly not. Its fantastic.

It's just that we vapers tend to turn into little kids at christmas when we finally receive our deliveries - especially when we have to wait around 2 weeks if you live in Australia like me - and the little things make ALL the difference!

Exactly. I couldn't agree more. The juice is the product of a million fairy tears and the blessings of a dozen Greek gods. While I can admire great aesthetics, I think of the fact that my Provari came wrapped in bubble wrap. The product is ALL I care about.

I prefer more cut and dry, order and receive type of transactions. I like great juice, easy website, confirmation email, shipping email and timely shipping. Everything else just adds to the cost or takes away from making and shipping juice. I feel my money and order shows my appreciation for their product/efforts. I feel my order was appreciated by timely shipping of great juice. I don't need or even want extra frills or mutual ...-kissing. Maybe it's just me!? A quick example, AVE has a 300 order/day limit. Each package has "You Rock! 8)" hand written on it. A nice touch, but if they left that off could they then do 325 orders/day? I think so, and I'd prefer it. I've been placing an order before and they reached the limit while I was trying to check out. Had to order the next day. I was probably #305. The funny thing is, my point of view probably seems as odd to you as yours does to me. While we may be at opposite ends of the spectrum most people probably fall somewhere in between. That's what keeps things interesting.

Thank you thank you thank you for this! My husband's favorite is Gandalf and he told me it was gone from the site. I thought NO WAY would they quit making Gandalf as I know how popular it is to the far ends of the continent! Whew. good news. Legend sounds pretty appropriate. HHV is my most favorite juice vendor now for awhile. Wonderful true pure flavors that stay that way through the whole bottle! Love all I have tried. They should post a notice on the front page of their site about the name change and save a few people momentary heart failure. Thanks again!

After a while, you'll have a collection of amber and glass bottles from other vendors you can re-use.

As I said before - Packaging it's not a big thing if it is done well but really noticed if it isn't.

The juice as I said was ok - but in my opinion it does not deserve the hype!

Glad all you guys love it though!

I have found a juice today that exceeded the hype! And simply due to the quality of it and the wonderful taste. No idea what the packaging is like - got given some of another member.

Now there is a juice that blew me away!

It acctually changes hit to hit... at least that is how it is with me. Good right out of the mailbox too. And different people taste different things. There is no telling what it really is... :)
