In case anyone I know, or don't know for that matter, was wondering about my signature change. Well, I did indeed put up my own forums. No, they are not e-cigarette forums. I would not be so blatantly idiotic as to advertise an e-cigarette forum on the best e-cigarette forums there are. LOL.
My forums, DO IT FROM SCRATCH!, are forums for everyone out there like me, that enjoy doing any and all types of things as much from scratch as possible. I mean, I am never happy just doing something, I always want to know every aspect of the project and to do every possible step of the process myself. I was not interested in just drinking a beer. So I learned how to brew beer. Then of course I had to learn to make wine. I was not satisfied taking up oil painting, I had to learn how to stretch my own canvases on my own homemade frames. I could not just puff on a tornado, I had to re-learn electronics again and build my own, and then make my own atty, I refuse to cook a meal unless it is a great meal and made completely from scratch as much as possible. I won't just open a jar of sauce, I have to slowly cook down garden fresh tomatoes all day long. Wood working, Metal working, blacksmithing, automotive customizing, Computer Modding, cases customizing, overclocking, the list is endless!
If you do, or want to do, anything from scratch, then please join my forums and help me get off the ground. I have only been up for a month, and I refuse to spam e-mail or advertise on forums without permission from forum owners (so far only ECF said it was no problem).
Like I said, this is NOT an e-cigarette forum. In the electronics section there is one board for e-cigarettes and the first sticky post tells people to go to ECF for a real e-cigarette forum.
So tell you friends and anyone that is into any DIY stuff. I need members badly. I need moderators as well! If I know you from ECF and you know a lot about a DIY topic than I can use you as a mod for that topic. If I don't have that topic, I will add it. I want sections for ALL DIY topics.
If I know you very well from ECF I could maybe use you as a global moderator as well. Global mods don't have to know a lot about any subjects, but should be familiar with moderating on phpbb and should be someone that I know VERY well. I will only have 3 global moderators though guys, so first come first serve. Also I will not have global moderators as moderators of specific topics. It is one or the other. ..and no power hungry ban-boys either. If you are a social misfit on ECF, there is little chance you will be moderating on DIFS. heheheh. No names mentioned of course. To be honest, I have only meet two people on ECF that I would consider anti-social anyways. ..and... well you probably don't know who you are. They never do. LOL.
Okay, all kidding aside, I really do need members badly! and new category ideas, and mods for existing boards, and mods for board that people suggest. If you suggest a new board that you are a DIY person of and for, then you would be made moderator upon request since the topic was your idea.
(Yes.. I am bribing for members with mod status) .. of course this will only work for a few members because I will only have 1 moderator for a category and 1 moderator for each individual board and 3 global moderators.
I am new to this sort of thing though and playing it by ear. If you have some worthwhile tips and suggestions for me, please send me a PM (here or on DIFS, I have no intention of decreasing my ECF activity. I love ECF.)
