Hi,
I started vaping in december 2011 and had the last cigarette of my about 15-year-lasting smoking-career on december, the 14th. If you need some personal information: 30 years old, female, software engineer, one cat, no man, no cry ;)

In the last few months I sucked in as much knowledge as possible from the two bigger german forums (dt & erf). So far I'm not infected by any mod madness (yet). Still vaping on eGo-T and C, practicing my reanimation skills on the attys from time to time (so far very successful - all of them are still alive and kicking) and sometimes even trying myself in the dark field of liquid magic (unfortunately only at a novice level, but maybe I'll get better someday).

The vaping community in Germany is growing stronger, despite the media campaign ... I hope that maybe some day people will have the freedom of and be able to obtain information on their own, so they won't be misled by our "independent" press organs and all that copy-and-paste-journalism...

I've learned lot in the last few months and hoping to find even more useful knowledge in the depths of this forum :)

Enough for today & happy vaping to all of you :party::vapor:

It started out with some negative statements from a researcher at the DKFZ (German cancer research department), which were copy-pasted through a big part of the german newsletters, then a politician from the Green Party spoke out a "warning" and overstepped her field of competence by stating a decree which forbade the selling of liquids containing nicotine in the German State NRW (Nordrhein-Westfalen). Her argument was the e-cigs should be treated as a pharmaceutical product and should not be sold without a proper accreditation (I'm not sure, if I chose the proper translation here).

Just a few days ago a small court of justice decided, that the e-cig is definitely no pharmaceutical product and the decree was void...

Hallo nach Dresden von einer Landsmaennin! Hi to dresden from a fellow German! Ich lebe schon seit 18 Jahren in den USA aber bin trotzdem Deutsche und werde es immer bleiben! Switching to English since most ECF users don't speak too much German. LOL! Well, went to Germany in December before switching to E-cigs so I'm glad that so far, it is not regulated there yet, either. Planning on going back home next year in February and not planning on carrying a bunch of liquid with me. Found a liquid shop only about 20 miles from where I live (Freakyalley.de) that I'll try once I get there...... Was a 20+ year, 1.5 pack a day smoker and after switching in February, haven't had an analog since. Mod madness has grabbed me a bit, I went from a mini to a Lavatube, but what's worse - juice madness has it's firm grip on me and my debit card is very mad at me this month! Gruesse nach Deutschland!!!

@jimbill, jj2, NaturesEncore, Chris77, Ratchet:
Thanks for the nice and warm welcome :)

@Ratchet:
Hallo zurueck aus Dresden in die USA :D
I'm pretty curious, how is it like moving from Germany to the US? Was it hard to get accustomed? Are there things from Germany you really miss? Is it really true what my aunt says about american food or is it possible to get and eat healthy stuff as well? ;)
You should not have a problem with buying liquids in Germany, in the last months e-cig-shops sprang up like mushrooms :)
And about FreakyAlly: I did order a lot of software from them lately, they are well known for their good quality :)
