Welcome to ECF, @Kimsalter :)

We have ECF members from all over the world...who are at various stages of vaping. So you'll fit right in I'm sure.

Which of these are you?
A smoker who's interested and thinking about trying vaping
Already vaping, to hopefully help you kick the smokes to the curb
Someone who quit the smokes and has been a vaper only for quite awhile

    Thanks to welcome me @JCinFLA

I consider myself a smoker who's curious about vaping, so I gave it a try a couple of times. Unfortunately, whenever I vape, my throat starts to cough, which prevents me from fully enjoying it.

    So what to do now?

What device or set-up and eliquid did you try those times? I ask because for some people just beginning to vape...those may be what cause you to have unpleasant experiences. The device may output too much vapor, or vapor that's too warm, for you as a beginner. Or the eliquid you chose might be too high in nicotine content, or may have some flavorings in it that are irritating your throat. Or the PG to VG ratio in it might have caused it. Most of the time, making a change in 1 or more of the above things...will result in you enjoying vaping.

In addition to the above info... it's pretty common for someone who's been a smoker, to cough when first starting to vape. Eliquid doesn't contain the chemicals that cigarettes have in them, to purposely dull some sensations in your throat. If you think back to when you first started smoking, I'll bet you coughed then, too. However, because of the chemicals put in cigarettes...the more you smoked the less irritation your throat felt. The cigarette industry was very cunning in that way, IMO.

Finding a set-up that suits you better as a beginner to vaping, and eliquids that have a suitable nicotine level and PG/VG ratio for you...may take some trial and error. But, if you stick with it, you're likely to find yourself kicking your smoking habit...and joining the growing number of us who've also finally done it, by switching to vaping.

The device I tried was IGET vape Raspberry flavor and it was use & throw vape so I don't know the nicotine level.
According to google search results your device had Salt Nic eliquid in it that was 50mg/mL-60mg/mL, which is a high nicotine content...especially for someone just starting to vape. Instead of showing 50mg/mL-60mg/mL on the packaging though, it might have shown nic content as 5% or 6%, which misleads many people into thinking it's low. I'd be surprised if it didn't give you a headache and make you somewhat lightheaded or queasy, too, in addition to causing you to cough. Most disposable devices contain Salt nic eliquid that's 35mg/mL - 50mg/mL, which is still high, IMO, for someone new to vaping.

Search results also showed that the IGET brand disposables are mostly sold by shops in Australia. Are you located there? I ask because you may soon have some trouble getting any vaping devices and eliquid. Unfortunately, new legislation recently passed will require people to get a script from their doctor to obtain vaping related products. Disposables are the first vaping devices they plan to crack down on, as far as availability.

If you still want to try disposables {which usually cost less than a mod and tank set-up}, to see if you'll even like vaping...I'd look for ones that have 3mg/mL-12mg/mL nicotine content. They may also be labeled as just 3mg, or 6mg, or 12mg. If you are a very light smoker and/or haven't been a smoker for many years...I'd go for lower the ones, like 3mg or the 6mg. However, if you usually smoke frequently each day and/or have been a smoker for quite a few years...I'd recommend the 12mg ones.

If you buy from a local vape shop, someone working there should be able to help you find the above. If you buy online, just be sure to check the descriptions of the disposables to see the mg of the nicotine in them. Remember that % isn't the same as mg. If it says the nicotine is 3%...it's 30mg, 5% is 50mg, etc.

This website has a large variety of disposables from $2.99 and up, and they have free S/H right now, for any order that's $20 or more. I don't know how good any of them are though, as I don't use disposables at all. Also, you'll want to check the nic content in their descriptions...for ones that are interesting to you.

    Welcome to the forum, Kimsalter.

I recommend you keep experimenting with PG/VG ratios, and I always recommend open systems over disposables, for better control of your experiments.

It took me some days to even learn to inhale my vape correctly at first. That could be causing your cough. You don't actually even have to inhale. You'll absorb the nicotine through your mouth tissues, with even more absorption if you exhale through your nose.

I believe vaping can help you quit cigarettes. You're the boss. When you're familiar with what vape products work for you, and have become comfortable with vaping, you'll choose your cigarette quit date on your own terms and be free forever.
