I haven't had a real cigarette in a month now. Started with Blue off the 7-11 shelf and have since moved to V2. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with V2 as it's much better with the lung/throat hit than Blue was. My only real complaint I suppose is the refillable cartridges I'm using seem to fade out pretty quickly. Think 20 fills are max and then must be discarded. Also, they have leaked a bit on me a few times.

I'm looking to see from experienced V2 users if there is something better out there on the market so as to avoid wasting money on trial and errors. Basically make a better informed purchase thanks to other users who have already been there, done that. I would definitely prefer a USA made product and something that doesn't look like I have a huge metal cylinder hanging out of my mouth. I saw a couple things about Halo G6 and eGO. Anyone have any experience with these and how they might compare with the V2 I'm using now?

Thanks all,
Chris

It's the same height as a pack of 100-style cigs, but not as wide, if you don't count the 510 threads on top. Not that big, as compared to rod mods. Nice and compact, the battery lasts a few days before a recharge. Got mine from ivape for $55 with the included coupon code. A great deal, and a fantastic way to upgrade from a plain ecig. It's always good to have a few backups, for when you do have to recharge ;)

While the itaste MVP recommended above is a great unit. Actually my favorite device of all time, it might not be for you because of the box mod form factor. If you are ok with the box look, go for it. It charges like a cell phone, works with a ton of accessories and is quite easy to use and master.

If you want something smaller though, consider getting an Ego or an Ego-clone. These come in either fixed voltage or in variable voltage. I'd get the variable voltage if I were you. It's only about 3 bucks more and gives you the ability to add more power and try out things at varying voltages. Look for either the Ego-twist or the Vision-Spinner model. They are basically the same thing made by two different companies. If you get this device, you might want to pair it with a ce4 or ce5 (commonly marketed as "stardust" or simply "ego clearomizers".

Good luck, welcome to ecf, and ask any follow up questions. We are here to help.

Thank you all for the input. I went ahead and ordered the MVP after seeing that video review. Now that looks incredible as far as vapor production goes. What tank would you recommend for that? And as an aside question, what makes these refillable tanks not last? In other words, why do they not last indefinitely and need to be discarded after so many refills? Are they all disposable or is there something that lasts?

Thanks!

There are cartomizers and atomizers you can use with or without tanks and/or by dripping. Then there are clearomizers. All of them have a coil which heats up the e-liquid from a wick substrate in different manners. The reason they do not last forever is that either the coil can burn out or the residue left builds up inside and makes the vape taste bad. Some can be cleaned and reused, but it usually hard to do and its much easier to just replace.
There are also RBA's which are rebuildable Atomizers which can be rebuilt easier because they are usually larger and are made to be taken apart so one can replace the coil/wick. The coils are made from kenthal or nichrome wire(some also use a combo of non-resistance wire with the prior in combo) and the wicks can be stainless steel wire mesh or silica/cotton. Many different types of RBA's exist, and each have their own advantages/disadvantages. There is a lot to learn and it takes a lot of time. Some RBA's have their own tanks like the some dont. The ones that dont are usually made for dripping, but there are ones that can be used inside carto tanks like the Killer, Phoenix, Diver etc.

One thing to keep in mind is that the battery isn’t user replaceable. The MVP does not use standard-sized batteries that you can purchase from another vendor. Advanced tinkerers can replace the unit’s layered battery cells, but most vapers won’t know how or won’t care to do that. Good thing I like to tinker so we'll see when that times comes :D
