Hi everyone. I have been browsing these forums for several days trying to figure out what to buy. I have decided to skip a few trial-and-errors and jump straight to the eGo. I placed my order yesterday with VaporKings. It looks like I could have gotten it cheaper other places, but wanted to make sure I was getting a genuine Joye product. Here is what I ordered:
1 - Joye eGo kit in matte black - Genuine joyetech!
https://www.vaporkings.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=LIQ-10ML-MED-CHERRY1 - Matte black MEGA 1000mAh super high capacity manual pushbutton battery for Joye eGo e-Cigarette. Genuine Joyetech!
1- A pack of FIVE FLAT TIP BLACK empty cartridges for Joye 510 or eGo e-Cigarette (Genuine Joyetech!)
1 - 10ml bottle of medium 18mg Cherry flavor e-liquid

Wondering what else I am going to need to get started? I have only laid hands on a PV once, tried it and thought it could be something for me. I am taking a trip to St. Louis this weekend to visit the in-laws-to-be and am hoping to have some time to get it all figured out.

I am also interested in a few flavors, but am wondering about a good place to buy juice in bulk. I don't want to break the bank buying 1oz bottles all the time.

I'm 39 years old and have been smoking 1-1.5 packs of Marlboro's a day since I was 13.

Thanks!

Juice Juice and more Juice! If you like vaping, you will blaze through that 10ml fast! I smoked Kools for 17 years, pack a day for many of those years, and found that the 18mg juice was not enough. I regularly vape 24mg and it is perfect for me. On your next order of juice, I would include some higher mg nic just to have on hand. I really like strictlyejuice.com for my juice orders. They have free shipping if you spend $10+ and it gets to my house in 2 days everytime I order. Some people on the forums don't like them, but you'll find differing opinions on pretty much every vendor out there. Good luck to you and welcome to vaping!

Hi Stanley welcome to ECF and grats on your choice of the eGo. I like to joke that ECF actually stands for eGo Cult Forum, because so many of us use the eGo, and with pretty good success I might add. Looks like you have a pretty good initial set up there. As far as what else to buy, its always good to have a few extra atomizers. last thing you want is for your only atty to die on you and then have to wait a week for new supplies, while falling back on analogs to fill the gap. Also, one 10ml bottle of liquid probably won't last you long. If you follow the typical pattern when switching to a PV, you will probably vape pretty heavily early on. So you definately want to get more eJuice. You asked about recommended juice vendors so I'll throw in my 2 cents on that. I'm a HUGE fan of Backwoods Brew Backwoods Brew and freedomsmokeUSA FreedomSmokeUSA for my tobacco flavors. If you want to try some of the sweet or fruity vapes that are out there then i would recommend Ms T's Bakery Ms Ts Bakery Essentials Inc. Electronic Cigarettes - Flavors for the Electronic Cigarette. E-Juice All three are "made to order" vendors so it is usually a good idea to give these Ejuices a week to "steep" before cracking into them. That said I pretty much at least sample every juice I get the day I receive it.

Hope that helps, if you have any other questions, fire away. The ECF community will be glad to help.

Hey Stanley
Glad to have you here!

You are going to be SHORT on the juice! Trust me!
You need to order....from a couple of different vendors.....more juice....
and DON"T order large bottles or bulk at this point.
Different vendors...different juices and most important
your taste buds WILL CHANGE over the next few weeks and months.

I am a 35 or so day noob and I have juice for about 7-8 vendors at this point.
Love some....hate some.
What I liked 2 weeks ago, is not so good today.
So you will spend a little extra on juice at first and thru trial and error will land on a few that
you really like.

Personally I also have different Nic contents as well. First few weeks, getting off the analogs,
your nic content may need to be higher as well as later on, maybe a day when you are really
fighting the urge
Then you can start tapering off, depending on how things are going for you.
You can also lower the nic content by the addition of PG/VG if needed.

Glad to have you here and your gonna love "this" addiction!

Hi and welcome Stanley!
This board is a great resource for the information you are looking for. Dig around and read about what interests you till your head hurts then read some more. lol. I am from the quad-cities which is pretty close to you, practically neighbors.
There is a pretty swell vendor right there in Cedar Rapids that I order my juice from. NiteLiteVapor Its cheap and delicious! I do not know if they have a storefront or anything there in cedar rapids but you could maybe contact them and ask. They may be able to help answer some questions for you in person if they do and maybe even let you sample some juices. Gene is a great guy and I grow fonder of this vendor every time I place an order. Even if they don't have a store front, shipping should be lightning fast being right there in Cedar Rapids, and their juice prices are cheap enough (3.75 for 10 mils, 10.50 for 30mls) that you can try a couple flavors without breaking the bank.I am a big fan of their bounty hunter, gold rush, and peach juices myself. Their cappuccino is delicious to me as well but to me tastes more like a beer from a local q-c brew pub called Oatmeal stout from Bent river here in moline if you have ever been there. (YUM!)

Enjoy your vape, and good luck with your hunting!

Firealdo - I contacted NiteLiteVapor and unfortunately, they do not have a storefront here :( It's okay because shipping is flat fee and delivery should be overnight anyway. I bought about $50 worth of juice and a couple backup attys. Looking forward to getting my whole setup tomorrow. Can't wait!!!

Thanks to all for your replies. I'm hoping that the juice I can get here locally will satisfy me, as it's cheap and putting money into the local economy.

Hi stanley! First and foremost, and this may be the most important thing you ever read on this forum....GO HAWKEYES! Now, having said that let me preface my post with this caveat...I have only been vaping for about a month but lurked and read...and read...and read for nearly a year before I finally took the plunge. Everything you know, or think you know, going into this may change. I know it did for me. The best piece of advice I can give you is BACKUPS..BACKUPS..BACKUPS. Have spare attys (or cartomizers) and even tho you have a big batt. (boy...that was kinda uncomfortable to say) coming...(once again...uncomfortable) a spare battery is a good idea. Check out a passthrough for your ego, charge and vape at the same time, unhook the battery and go.
lots of juice is good but in reality you can make your own if you're so inclined, and you can make it really cheap. It's not the complex flavors you get from vendors(at least mine isn't) but I make a really good butter rum and cinnamon and a pretty good english toffee and clove along with a good potent menthol (for a change of pace which I find odd because I detested menthol analogs, but like my menthol vape). It costs me about a buck or less for 10 ml. when I make my own, but I still but lots of juice because some of them are just so darn good.
If your quest was to get off analogs then I'm here to tell you that this will work. So far it has for me and I would consider myself to be a hard core smoker( 35+ years of roll your own drum tobacco at the tune of about 40 a day). 18 days analog free...maybe 10 in the last 30 and that was due to a charger/battery problem 1 week in.
Good luck, and if you ever need help or advice then you are at the right place...the folks on this forum absolutely rock when it comes to aiding us noobs........and oh yea....GO HAWKS!

Spent a little time in the QC myself working at B100, and I never thought I'd hear the words "Bent River" again. Thanks for the blast from the past. ;)
