First post so I guess I'll introduce myself... Newly registered but been lurking for a while. I've been vaping for about 5 months now and it's become more of a hobby than anything else. I had tried the cigalike devices sold in mall kiosks years ago and found them completely unsatisfying. Needless to say i continued to smoke through the years until I saw this guy at school blowing clouds next to me while i smoked a cigarette. It was different from anything I'd ever seen and intrigued me. I struck up a conversation with him about what he had in his hand and he told me how it enabled him to quit successfully and he alluded to rebuilding. I am an undergraduate student working on a degree in mechanical engineering so naturally the building part really peaked my interest. Over the course of the next few days I did some research on what this guy had briefly told me about and ended up purchasing a k101 from a local shop. I knew I didn't want to dive right into dripping b/c it seemed like a such a hassle and the k101 afforded me the possibility of using an ego threaded tank or the included carto initially before progressing into rdas later. Anyway, I quit smoking with the cartos followed by a mini protank and really wanted to get into rebuilding at that point. Started with rebuilding that little protank and haven't looked back since. I think I'm rambling so I'll finish it up...My inherent need to tinker has led me to gradually pick up a collection of gear and learn a ton about vaping and building in the process. I finally registered b/c i feel that I have gained knowledge that can be shared to benefit others. Aside from that I've found that vaping creates a giant community for us ex-smokers to come together both here and in our lives and it's time for me to be a part of this side of it.
