Hi all I'm new to the forum!

I have been vaping for a year and currently using nautilus with bvc coils and an eleaf istick 50w. Usually use it on between 9-13w.

I was using vaporised defang liquids and coils were lasting 2-3 weeks each but decided to treat myself to a bottle of njoy hedons bite which is about double price of what I was using. The flavour is gorgeous and gives great vapour BUT I'm going through coils every 4-5 days!!

Any advice?

Cheers!

Sadly, this is what happens.

I'm guessing you mean "Vapourised" Dekang.. is this UK?

Dekang should be very cheap in the UK... I hope you weren't paying too much. I was paying JacVapour £6.15 (a long time ago) to discover it was £2.49 liquid. You can imagine what I think of rebranded Dekang.

(and JacVapour). :-x

Thanks for the replies guys. Vaporised is a distributor in UK yes, I was paying £9 for 30ml dekang but spending £18 for same amount of njoy so was a bit miffed that it was burning through my coils quicker! The guys in the local vape shop said it would burn slower with it being higher VG and quite thick but that doesn't seem to be true either!

I would gratefully accept any recommendations for good liquids! The njoy hedons bite is sour apple, melon and caramel so anything similar that's not quite so thick would be good!

There are a few reasons why this could happen...

1. darker juices WILL junk up coils pretty fast. (I tend to use light colored, makes coils last longer)
2. Sweeteners will burn off leaving thick junk behind.

Because a few of my favorites are sweet, I use them on rebuildables only. I end up dry burning the coil and throwing in new wicking every three days.

howdy! and welcome!

you might be able to get some extra mileage out of those coils by soaking them in PGA overnight, hot water rinse, then air dry - i will typically run a small bristle brush down the center to loosen any debris/ residue/ build up on coils after first soak also - this will only really work with a vertical coil, though... and only if cotton wasn't burnt - if cotton/ wicking gets burnt, the coil is dead

Dear me, yes, £9 for 30ml of Dekang is a disgraceful price for 2014-2015. (I pay £3.20)
I'm sure Njoy is decent liquid. Good, but £18 good? not sure. (OK, I admit, it's nice :) )
Put it this way, the people who run Njoy don't even use their own hardware but they do use the e-liquid, but the liquids are a different part of the business really.

Vapeclub UK sell lots of imported liquids.

You could consider Royal Vapor or Witchcraft if you like High VG. (*)

I would have a look at Grizwalds (ex Vape Escape)

It's a shame your shop said the coils would last longer... that was never going to happen.

Good luck. Ask on AAEC UK if you need more suggestions. :)

*Witchcraft kills my coils in 4-5 days whereas I usually get 10 days, mostly.*

Hi Laurie and welcome to ECF :)

All juices will gunk up coils after a while. Price really doesn't have much to do with it. I've found sweet and/or dark juices are the worst. Unflavored is significantly less gunky.

My favorite DIY juice is both dark and sweet. I use rebuildable attys and I typically dry burn the coils and replace the wicks every 15 ml or so, which is every two days for me. In the past I have used some juices that I could get 20-40 ml through an atty with. I don't know if you can clean your bvc coils. If you're interested in doing that Google 'dry burn [your coil]' and see what you find.

Also, I don't know how much you pay for your coils, but I suspect a coil every 4-5 days is still way less money than smoking was :)
