Hi, and question about weird Provari behaviour

Hi all,

As a new vaper of 48 days (and smokefree !) I have been trawling through this forum for days :) It's loaded with goodies and invaluable information, so thanks to all who make it happen !

My journey went from Ego batteries with CE3s, through an innokin SVD with Protanks, an IGO-L and a Vivi Nova, until today when my Provari appeared at the front door. I like the SVD, but that Provari is really sweet :p

Only thing that bothers me is that when it is turned off, it measures the Ohms lower ?! The IGO-L has a 1.7 Ohm coil, measured by the SVD and my Beckman multimeter - the Provari measures it as 0.9 to 1 Ohm when off, but correctly at 1.7 when on - is that to be expected ?

Also, when checking the battery it sometimes continues to fire and throw an E2 error ?

Could it be the Efest battery (18650) ?

As a side note, it arrived with some aromas for DIY mixing, amongst which were TPA m-type and a TFA Black Cherry. Of all the aromas, those had to be the ones to leak in the package - why couldn't it have been the pear, or the strawberry ? Type-m is awful straight from the bottle !

From what I understand, it measures resistance under load therefore it has to be on in order to accurately measure the ohms of your coil, same with batt volts. I have never actually turned mine off till now to check it, sure enough mine does the same thing. So yeah, it has to be "on". E-2 is current limit; your voltage is set too high for your coils resistance.

Ah, thanks for clearing up the Ohm conundrum for me :)

The E2 error still troubles me, since I run the 1.7 Ohm coil @ 3.2 V. Is that really too much ? The error only shows up when checking the power or the resistance (resistance drop with longer activation period ?) ... Hm. I'll guess I'll roll up some 2 Ohm coils and see what happens :)

Mine throws an e2 code if I try to button fire it while its still self firing for voltage and ohm check features. Waiting until the display shuts off before firing it does the trick.

Sent from my mind while out and about.

That solved it :) I guess I have nothing to worry about any more - time to enjoy the new gadget :D Thanks !

Just tried firing mine while still in the 5 sec batt test window, E2 error. My guess would be that it’s already got a small volt load at batt test and if you fire it, it's adding those volts to it, triggering the E2 error. Just did it 5 out of 5 tries. I would guess that your coil resistance is fine, just give a good 10 count (just to be sure) after you check your batt level before you start vaping it.
