Great review again, Scott. I don't own a SB, but I do have a Chuck, which aside from the cosmetics and button design, functions identically to the SB (based on what I've read, at least). It also uses the same
batteries. That charge time is pretty long, but it's easy to maintain. I just stick the battery in the charger every night prior to going to bed, and the next morning, I'm good to go. The good thing about Lithium Ion
batteries is they don't suffer from the sort of "memory" problem, where capacity is reduced by charging prematurely like you see with cellphones. I've never had a problem with an inconveniently dead battery by doing this.
Of course, this is all relative, as you pointed out quite well that a larger mod isn't necessarily for everyone, which is understandable.
On an unrelated note, your review of the TW Volcano is what convinced me to look into it, and WOW. The kit came with two
batteries, and they were fully charged right out of the box. The first one lasted for 12 plus hours, and was actually still kicking when I swapped it out. It's nice to see the manufacturers taking a cue from the mod developers in providing a long-life battery.
