Just introducing myself.
I was a 1 1/2 PAD smoker for about 35 years. I liked smoking, and had no intentions of quitting. But I hated a lot of things about smoking.
E-cigs had never crossed my radar until someone who I respect a lot posted about them in a fish keeping forum I belong to back in May.
He also posted a link to these forums. I spent many hours over a couple of days reading threads and videos, learning the lingo, watching videos, getting myself totally confused. Yes, I have been a lurker since May.
Also chain smoked a couple of packs of stinkies while reading all the threads. You see, nobody I knew, or even saw, was using e-cigs.
Can't remember how, but I got turned on to Smokeless Image and was going to order one of their starter kits, and called them to ask a question. The person I talked to was awesome and answered a lot of questions. He even suggested I skip the starter kits and just get a couple of X2 batteries (I ended up with 900mah). Have been happy with them ever since.
Got my stuff on May 26th, and set the stinkies aside ever since. I had one stinky a couple days later just to compare and said "blech". However, I do still have 1/2 pack in my vehicle, and about a pack in the freezer as a mental "just in case". Purposely letting those in the vehicle cook in our 115' heat so if I break down and light one up it will be even worse.
My suggestion to people new and confused, really think about what you are looking for. It's like shopping for a car, do you want something small and economical? Something to haul lots of stuff? A mini-van? Sports car? Top of the line luxury? Figure out what you want these to do.
I have also tried to fight the never ending search for new flavors. My current main vape is a mix of RY4, Desert Joe, and Cappuccino. I also am addicted to Fire & Ice (cinnamon & menthol) and enjoy some grape occasionally.
I was getting concerned about the money I was spending vs stinkies (I was getting them for $30 a carton). So, I started a spread sheet to track my purchases. Happy to say that as right now, I have saved $156.00 vs cigarettes.
I am also happy to say that I have so far converted 1 friend, 1 co-worker, a sister, and my Mom (never thought she would try them being a committed smoker and 75yrs old).
Anyway, just wanted to encourage people reading these threads, that these e-cigs are real and they work.
Mark
