Hello and welcome!:)

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.

1. A Good Starter's Setup for a Beginning Vapor
2. Advancing Up the Vaping Ladder with Egos and Mods
3. Proper terminology - Is it a carto, a tank, or what? A Guide to Juice Attachments.
4. Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

And here are a few more on "vaping terminology".

1. A – Z E-Cig Glossary
2. e-Cigarette Jargon and Terms – eCig 101
3. Vaping Glossary - what does it all mean?
4. ECF Abbreviations 101

#4 is very handy when trying to decipher ECF members vaping slang.

Welcome and good luck with your future vaping journey. The Innokin Itaste MVP 2.0 is a very good starting vaporizer because it skips the first two steps (Ego/Evod & Ego C Twist/Evod VV). It also allows you to move straight into building your own coils when you're ready and has a massive internal battery in it. This, combined with a couple of Kangertech mini protank 2s, 3s or the aerotank or even an Aspire Nautilus (or mini) will give you a pretty decent starting point. I also suggest trying out the juice from Mount Baker Vapor as it's fairly cheap and most of their juices are decent quality. However, do not make the mistake of ordering a big bottle of a juice until you try it first. Again, good luck.

of the hundreds of people I have put on "Vape" there is no 'best" starter IMHO..

Some are very trepidatious of vape and unwilling to spend any more than absolutely necessary (and not sure I blame them). There have been so many scams and "swing and a miss" products out there that I myself am hesitant and skeptical of most new products..

For those people, I have a $20 900mAH Evod system (replaceable bottom coil tank) that works for these users long enough to show them how this all works and if it is going to work for them..

They then return and buy their first batch of coils OR they upgrade to some VV/VW system (MVP and Vision 2 being the most common). This now gives them a most valuable back up device if they upgrade.. I can not imagine anyone serious about vape not having at least 2 devices. There is a new form of "Panic" that new "vapers" learn and that is the "Flashing light" of a dead vape pen battery :)

It is just getting over that first "hump" and on to the learning curve that is the real challenge..

Personally if money is not an issue, I like the Vision Spinner V2 and the Aspire Nova tank for starters.. Easy to use, hard to mess up and great vape for most..

Congrats on the new journey btw...

Good luck. I first bought a vape, about four years ago when the kits were 300. At the malls. That lasted for 2 whole days. Anyways, about 5 months ago I started the new vapes. I used to smoke 2 packs of Newport a day. This week i have smoked like 5 real cigs. Anyways I started on v2 rechargeable b that looked like real cigs and they didn't do much for me. I went through several vision spinners and they kept faLling apart. I used a aero tank on them that frustraTed me. I eventually settled on a tesla spider vv ego style battery and a aspire nautilus. This kit is what made the biggest difference in my smoking habit and I could make a pack last a week. I bOught my first mod and rda yesterday.

Learn the ropes on a vv ego style and decent tank, I liked the bottom dual coils. The tesla and tank might b set you back 30 bucks. I had bad luck with most other twist end vv egos and probably bought 8 or so that fell apart. Don't waste your time or money on the 7-11/gas station junk. Good luck. Today is my second day cig free

OP, I was in the same boat. I quit cigarettes about 2 years ago and I craved them ever since. I've been using non-nicotine juices and loving it for about a month now. I highly HIGHLY recommend seeking out a speciality e-cigarette store or at least a tobacco store to purchase your first set up. I personally found that I was able to get a decent beginner set up (Kangertech T3S tank and Just E-Cigs battery, plus a free 10ml of juice) for only $30 at my local store. In addition to all of that, I was able to try out a variety of different flavors to make sure I got the ones I liked best. Ordering online is a great choice if you want to save money and in the future, that's what I would recommend, BUT until you know more about the hobby, it's always nice to be able to talk to someone who knows what they're doing AND have someplace to go if anything goes wrong with your set-up (because you won't have back-ups yet :p ). You'll probably be surprised just how many vapor stores exist in your area, or at least within a reasonable drive.
