Hi gang,

I've visited the forum a few times in the past year, but I think it's about time I joined and placed an order. I have to admit, a lot of what I read here is over my head. The acronyms, mods and such.

In the limited reading I've done, I think I'm going to try an Joye eGo T 900mAh from Liberty Flights. The eGo seems to be popular and so does Liberty Flights, so I'm hoping that will end up being a nice combo for my first order until I can figure out what I want and need.

I had a few questions though. How long does the juice last? With analogs, obviously you can just run up to the store and get more if you run out. But it seems to have to plan a little with the juices, as most often there's going to be shipping involved.

Also, has anyone done a cost comparison between ecigs and analogs? I was just curious, if someone smoked x number of analogs a day and then switched over to electronics, how does the cost compare over a few months? I know the electronic will be better for one's health and you can't put a cost on that. But I was just curious if anyone had those numbers.

Would you guys recommend buying a few sampler juice packs to get going? Should I stick with LF for that, or maybe hit some of the other vendors?

Should you order extra atomizers at the beginning?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum, yes liberty Flights has good stuff and customer service. my personal experience with the T were not all that great, but many love them. As for juices get a few 5 ml bottles so they come with the order and also at the same time do several samples from other vendors in different nic levels until you find what works for you. They are many great pv's out there just finding what works for you will make it all worthwhile. I still love my Riva and Ego and I drip and have several bottom feeding mods, I still use my regular atty/carto style Ego most of the time. Best of luck on this new adventure, I quit the first day I hope you are as lucky.
P.S , yes get a few extra attys at order and a few drip tips and a pack of cartos, then you can try all methods of vaping inexpensively.

Welcome to ECF!

When you're first starting out with e-cigs it's best to get around 40-60mls of juice. I would suggest getting a couple of different nicotine levels and a few different flavors in small bottles just to see which will work best for you. The initial start-up costs can be on par with cigarettes, but it will taper off once you find a few flavors that you like and start getting comfortable with vaping. Most everyone goes through an experimental period of trying to find the right set-up and the right flavors.

You don't have to buy your juice from LF. I got my juice from VaporBomb and Gourmet Vapor. I mostly DIY now, but I'll still order occasionally. Keeping your juice supply stocked takes a little planning. Most of us will go through 3-6mls per day on average.

I can't speak for anyone else, but vaping is a hell of a lot cheaper than smoking. My fiance and I would spend around $300/month on cigarettes. The costs associated with vaping were a lot less and they've dropped off significantly for us now that we're settled in with kits that we like and making our own juice. In the last couple of months, we've only spent around $100 on supplies.

I'd purchase some Boge cartomizers as well as a couple drip tips. That way you can try dripping, using cartos and using carts/atty.

I'd purchase juice from a juice vendor. Lots of good vendors to chose from. Read through the juice review section and see what sounds good to you. I purchased a bottle of juice in 12 mg. and the same juice in 24mg. If the 12 is too low you could add to it, or if the 24 is too high, lower it with the 12. Mix them together for 18.

I happen to like nhalers juice (only comes in 24 PG & 12), Vapor Bomb, Vapor Station, Vermillion River, Backwoods Brew. But there are tons of great vendors out there.

Good luck!

Edit: Sorry, I just noticed you were getting the ego T. I'd still get a box of cartos.

FLGator, Congratulations and welcome to the ECF. I think your choice of an EGO is a good one. Haven't tried the Ego T personally, so can't really say much, but my wife and I both have EGO's and are very satisfied. Once you get the hardware you like, the cost it way less than analogs and the next big bite is finding the juices you prefer. We started out with some low nic juice from DealExtreme and some of there cheap starter kits which didn't last long. Then bought analog look-a-likes from a place in Florida. Finally we got the Ego's and have been vaping them ever since. We make our own juice now with 0 nic and it's really cheap. PG USP from Tractor Supply was about $26 for a gallon and VG from the local pharmacy was about $13.00 for 500ML. We get our flavoring from the grocery store. So for less than $50.00 we probably have enough to make about a years worth. If you must keep your nicotine you will have to get that online and will increase your cost, but it will still be much cheaper than smoking analogs at $5+ a pack. We also use cartomizers, currently CE2-Clearomizer XL's. Pretty cheap and they will last quite awhile. 5 pack run about $10-$15 depending on where you get them.

Good luck and once again welcome.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to say thanks for replying. I've been doing a little reading, specifically the "Sticky: Advice on what to buy for newcomers" and I think I decided against the eGo T. The problem is...I'm not sure what I'm interested in now. I'd like to try to buy something right the first time around and someone that's not gong to put me off vaping. I don't mind spending $50-$75 or even a little more to get a nice kit that I will enjoy. Any suggestions?

I tried a little cig look alike 510 and just couldnt hang with the short battery life.... I got a Riva 510 kit from liberty flights for $35 and love it..... great to start on and low cost too!.... I might later get a mod or another kit or something, but for now this is working great.... I havent had an analog in two weeks tommorrow and for the two days previous only had four a day cause of the battery issue with the 510 kit... now I vape my Riva and couldnt care less about having an analog.... Ive only been vaping for three weeks now.

I would go with the ego and boge 2.0 cartomizers. Long battery life and the boge cartomizers work great and they are easy and durrable. What part of fl are you in. Madvapes has the 900 mah ego starter kit that comes with boge cartos for 45.00. I have ordered from them a couple times and so far I only have good things to say about the company.

I began my sojourn into the confusing world of the PV about 3 weeks ago. Like most new interests I dove in headfirst, and absorbed as much as possible as quickly as possible. Being a gadget geek it was a natural pairing.

I've tried a couple of different products.

Started with the cloud 9 tossed it after a week. the carts only lasted about 20 puffs and tasted horrible.

My next folly was Blu.. great marketing and packaging, the batteries are weak, needing a recharge after a couple of hours and limited flavors and proprietary carts, Their cust service was ok....Returned for a refund after 1 week. We'll see if they honor thir refund policy or give me a major run around.

Now I have moved on to the RIVA 500 with the 750mAh battery. Thus far I'm loving it. Customer service at Liberty Flights is super. I am just getting started with the eGo tank system on it. Seems great.

Ordered a few tanks, a case and Blueberry ejuice from ecigcharleston.com. The Blueberry juice is excellent very nice flavor. Chuck is fantastic, he called me after I placed my first order to see if I needed anything else. After receiving the Riva carry case I found that one of the internal pouches was defective. Shot him an email..he called to apologize in like 10 minutes and offered to replace it immediately. He is the definition of customer service. $1.99 shipping on all orders. http://www.ecigcharleston.com. CHECK THEM OUT.

Im still searching for that every day juice. I whipped up a batch of 100% vg juice with LorAnns Gourmet Flavors, Vanilla butternut. NICE. Smooth and very flavorful. I used 48 mg/ml juice from onestopdiyshop, diluted it with food grade vg and a bit of distilled water. ordered some more of their flavorings we'll see what I can come up with. Also tried coffee and brandy jury is still out on those.

Also tried Cherry, vanilla, and clove from Vermont Vapors. Very bland I must say, The clove was totally foul I dumped it out after trying it. Like the idea of a new england product but they missed the mark on flavoring.

Pretty sure Ill be a DIY ER ON THE JUICE FRONT.

So this can become an expensive hobby. Im pretty well outfitted with a few different attys, tanks, smart carts, carts etc. Im probably good to go for a couple months.

Bit of advice to other newbies from my limited experience...Go for the Riva 501 style with the 750 battery or the eGo. The have superior battery life, offer different delivery systems for different tastes.

Thats it for now. Open to any and all constructive feedback.

Yeah, MadVapes has some good stuff. The aforementioned Ego or the e-Power would be good places to start.

If you go to Liberty-Flights, check out the Riva 510.

And then you can look at playing around with Boge LR or SmokTech dual coil cartomizers on your system.

The Echo is another good choice. I've got the 1300 mAh version and it's hard to beat the battery life on that thing. At 4.2 volts, it hits harder than the other models listed here. And it holds almost 3 times the e-juice.

PVing has helped me kick analogs. My lungs are cleaning out nicely. It seems that vapor sometimes caused a bit of lung congestion too. Anyone else have that experience.

It might be that your lungs are clearing out. But, you may also need to cut back on the PG. You may want to try a PG/VG mix in your juice. Say 70/30 PG/VG or even 50/50 PG/VG. Too much VG may clog your atomizers and cause your juice to burn (depends on the atomizer), so you'll have to figure out what works for you.
