Hi Everyone! New to the forum and need some guidance.

Hi, my name is Terry, and this is my 9th day smoking e-cigs and my 3rd day not smoking regular cigs! This is big for me, I'm a 12 year smoker who has only ever tried to quit once, and failed miserably after about three days. Right now, I feel fine and that for my life is huge. I have a baby coming in about two weeks and I needed to quit before she was born, so I feel that's taken care of now and it's a huge step forward for my life.

I do have a few questions, if anyone can help me answer these I would be very appreciative. I don't want to break forum rules and I don't consider this a review because I'll be the first to say it, I am super uninformed. With that disclaimer being said, please, help me.

First, I bought a V2 cig, then I read the forum and was like Oh no, they got me. I like it, the V2 Red 18 tastes good, semi sweet, bit of a throat hit, overall it helped me quit so I can't say it sucks.

I almost immediately found Totally Wicked, again, I know I overpaid twice but I got the Twisted Tornado (Ego-C 1000 style) battery and a dual coil tank by recommendation of the person on the telephone, I then also got a 5 flavor starter pack where I picked up an Ry4 (everyone on here seems to rave about them), American Red (which I thought was going to taste like a cigarette, it does not), Double Apple Shisha (I always enjoyed a good hookah bar), and Orange Tic Tac. I'm going to break this down one by one here real fast.

Ry4: disgusting. No flavor with the after taste of vanilla, but not good vanilla, gross vanilla. Gives me a headache.
American Red: Disgusting, no body, throat hit is good, but no enjoyment, tastes bland, gross.
Orange Tic Tac: Extra disgusting, menthol after taste, a bit of orange tic tac taste but ugh, bad, hate menthol.

I have not tried the double apple yet, I'm hoping for some sort of come back, these are all the Patriot Range liquids. The real question here is, is this normal?

Should anyone in their right mind like the crappy cartomizer flavor from V2 better than a dual coil tank filled with what is touted as premium juice? Did I just make bad choices? Help me out here, because what I'm experiencing vs. what I have read is totally different and I don't know what to do.

TLDR: Bought V2, liked it, was told to get a Ego-C and Tank for better experience, bought it, hate it, am I doing something wrong?

I am trying to think of what could possibly be causing your problem but nothing has come to mind as of yet. I have had some juices from Totally Wicked (Patriot line as well) and didn't have any flavor issues, although this was quite a while ago.

You tried all the flavors on a dual coil carto tank?

No I have only tried the RY4 in the dual coil carto, the rest I have had in a Clearomizer that I bought at the same time, sorry, left that out of the initial post. I should have bought more dual coil carto's but I was so sure I was going to love them all that I figured I would just have them in sequence.

I found that after a while some juices grow on you but the big thing for me was to jump around and sample juices that I should like (ie. if I don't like apples I don't try apple juices.) from different companies. Once I find a juice I like I keep with that while trying others so that I always have a good juice to fall back on. Taste is subjective so the best thing is to keep sampling till you find your heaven. Gross juice makes it harder to stay away from cigarettes. I've been vaping since 2010 and it wasn't till I got good equipment and good juice that I stopped sneaking cigs. I have had luck with bombayvaping.com, rawrvapor.com, and pinkspotvapors.com. Pink spot is my favorite vendors if you don't mind the price.

Might want to try dripping with a couple 510 atomizers when sampling liquid so that you aren't trapped with a full carto of something you hate.

Sorry to say it, stige but you're going to find a lot more flavors you hate before you find some that you love. Very few folks find their fave right away. Order samples, samples, samples. Welcome to ECF and good luck to you.

Do you know what type of clearomizer you have?

Hello,Welcome and Congrats! I also started with V2 and it got me off regular cigs,the reason I changed was the batteries didn't last that long.I purchased a Kgo for longer battery life. If you liked the V2 red juice,you should buy the juice from V2 and fill your own cartos(cheaper then prefilled).I would tell you what ever is enjoyable to YOU and keeps you off of reg cigs is what YOU need to do.Not what everyone says you should do.

Yes, I followed the directions though I don't think I filled it enough, there was a bit of burnt taste, i then pulled it out, filled it up some more, and tried again, then it started tasting fine. Do you think I "infected" it and should try another carto?

Good advice with dripping and they are right, could be that these flavors are just not for you. I just want to try and rule out that its not possibly a cartomizer/clearomizer issue thats throwing the flavors off for you.

Most of the time ounce you get that burnt taste or have burnt the filler in the carto you cant get rid of it from my experience. Its possible that that could be throwing the flavor off for you. If you have extra cartos I would try and fill one up and see if that does the trick. I usually will drip juice onto the white filler and then shake it like a thermometer to get the juice down in there, keep repeating till it starts to pool ever so slightly near the top of the filler. Also keep the condom on the battery connection so you dont fling juice all over the place when you shake it

Ok, just got a new carto, refilled with the double apple (I like apples!), and am giving it a minute or 2 to soak in before I hit it. I figured hwy not just fill up the whole thing, if I like it, then great, if I don't, I'm going to toss it anyway.

Ok, this one is better, and actually tastes like the name says, it reminds me completely of smoking a hookah with apple. Not my favorite thing of all time, but something familiar that I can relate to. I'm going to keep this one for the time being, and then when the new tanks arrive I'll try out some of the other samplers I have ordered. No problem stirge, just glad I could try and help you out!! Like some of the others have already said, sometimes you get ones you dont like or are just not for you. I hope the other samplers hit the spot for ya but at least you have a flavor that can hold you over until the other ones arrive.

After reading the thread I think you improperly filled your carto and then fired it dry and burned the polyfill. I might revisit the other flavors. fill carto and wait two minutes or more preferably five minutes before firing up.

I have a syringe from work that I use to fill my cartos works great as long as you don't go too far down.

I have to say I am not a fan of the Ry4 or anything that has orange in it. I can add butterscotch to that mix as well. I find them to have a very nasty after taste. I agree with an earlier post saying you should try a lot of juices before you concede that you are doing something wrong. I just think you ordered a few flavors that don't work for you. Try several sites and different types of flavors until you find something that floors you. I know I have one that I just can't stop vaping. Good luck to you.
