First time poster, though I've been reading for a few weeks now.

Three-ish weeks ago, my other half and I made the transition from analogues to e-cigs. in doing so, ECF was a really useful resource for us. Thank you ECF and posters that post on it, for being that resource. It helped alot in making many of the decisions that one inevitable faces in such a transition. Before reading here, we gave mistic e-cigs a half hearted try for a short time a while back, but they just didn't cut it, and actually taste worse than analogues.

After much reading, we settled on halo g6 starter kits, and they were pretty decent quality, though my other half has inherited my batts and the other halo goodies (other than my torque 56 - "my cold dead hands" as far as that goes). The reason for that, is that I was a heavy smoker for 26 years. not just heavy in how many ciggs I smoked in a day, but also heavy in HOW I smoked a cig. I was one of those guys that took BIG drags and inhaled them deeply. So the transition to the e-cigs has been perhaps more difficult for me than it has been for my other half, in that sense.

That led me, after more reading, to getting an elite 808 and some clear and easy 2.0 clearomizers. When the elite is fully charged (assuming I'm vaping torque 56), I can get the kind of drag I like to get, though it tapers off as the battery discharges over time. This has led me to getting my hands on a passthrough VV ego style batt, which should be here tomorrow. I went with the SLB eGo VV mega V2 - and I'm really looking forward to vaping with it. For now, I'll be vaping with an 808 adapter and using clear and easy 2.0 clearomizers from cigeasy with it. Technically its not a passthrough, if I understand correctly, but, if it can charge while I have it sitting on the desk between pulls, thats enough, for now at least.

Eventually, I'd like to try some higher voltage vaping, which is why I decided on the eGo VV mega V2, even though I wont be using it for higher voltages right off. I didn't want to "under do it" like I did with the 808 style, or be quite as limited in what direction I could go to the extent we were with them.

Anyway, I'm roughly three-ish weeks into vaping, and fairly satisfied thus far, though my criteria are still not met completely.

I have the taste part down - torque 56 IS my all day vape - I love it.

Taste was a big criteria. I expect that is the case for everyone.

The second criteria, is delivery in the amount of a pull I'm looking for - and the elite 808 does that mostly, though I'm hopeful that the ego vv will surpass my needs by a little.

One criteria that I have been trying to get a handle on, is getting the most vape from a given amount of liquid that I can, and search as I might, I can't seem to find much discussion about it. I know its here somewhere, you guys seem to have all the bases covered, but I can't find it. I've seen threads about clearomizers being juice hogs - mine definitely are compared to my carts, but I'd like to learn more, and would definitely welcome any suggestions or links to discussions about the topic.

Anyway, wanted to check in and say hello. We are three weeks in now, and thats all it took to truly understand the "battery shuffle" so often remarked about - and understand "stalking the mailbox" lol.

Welcome, Beev!
I can't say I really pay much attention to how fast my juice goes, but that's probably because I have about a hundred bottles. Congratulations on finding an all day vape - you've apparently succeeded in finding the holy grail. :)
For my part, I'm getting a lot of good vapor with Kanger T3s and Vivi Novas. Hope this helps... :)

Thanks! I'm currently vaping with the elite 808 and clear and easy 2.0 cartomizers, and they make good vapor and have decent taste with torque56, though the taste is slightly muted compared to a regular cart - but I don't mind it much.

But WOW are they thirsty compared to the regular carts. I've been wondering if the cart-tank setups aren't a bit more...frugal with the juice.

Welcome to the party beev, and get prepared to spend a lot more money! LoL!

You deserve it though, kicking the habit of smoking is awesome, and you owe yourself some sweet vaping gear as a prize for your efforts!

The SLB eGo-VV was my first VV battery, and I really enjoy it, still... It's a fantastic "pocket mod" as I like to call it... Nice and slim. And surprisingly well regulated for such a small device. It delivers a pretty consistent vape all the way til the battery dies and it just can't go anymore. The charge & vape is pretty nice as well!

You can really get a lot out of such a small mod, it will run just about any 510 / eGo threaded device you can pop on it. I run mine with clearos and carto/tanks. I'd say my favorite way to run it is with a Vivi Nova. Nice full vape, and no leaking into my pocket!

Outside of dripping, my experience has been that a cartomizer gives me the fullest vape, along with 50/50 juice that I make myself. I can get those deep drags you're talking about, where it just feels like I am exhaling a substantial amount of vapor akin to when I smoked cigarettes.

Increasing the amount of VG in your juice will also increase the volume of your vapor, at the expense of a smoother vape without as much throat hit. Then you can compensate for that with increased nicotine...

LoL... It's like a chemistry experiment!

Anyway, again, welcome to ECF, and congrats on quitting!

Thank you for the welcome and the good wishes!

Between the wife and myself, we were spending 400 dollars us and change, just on ciggs alone before we switched, so its not going to be too difficult to invest a bit of that into gear, as long as we do so wisely. Part of our motivation to make the switch was the cost, and part of it was our health.

The clear and easy 2.0 tanks I'm running have been great thus far, but I've been eyeing those cartotanks a bit. I just dont feel comfortable with how much I know about them yet though.

I'm hopeing my experience with the SLB mirrors yours, truly. I do really like the elite 808, but it stops giving me those hard hits after about 1/3 to 1/2 discharge, so its going to become a backup and/or go into the wifes battery rotation, and become part of the mobile arsenal.

The SLB is gonna be primarily for "at the computer" which is where I spent tons of time.

That was my plan, but now I use it for a stealthy "in town" mod. At home and at work I use my Lavatube. The vape experience isn't too much different than the SLB, but it will just go and go and go... A single battery will last me for 18+ hours of continuous vaping... When I toss my monster 3000mAh battery in, it can go for two days...

Cartomizers are really easy to understand... All you have to do is ask the question and you'll get more information than you ever wanted to know about Cartomizers... LoL... The user base on ECF is pretty amazing, a TON of knowledge floating through the halls around here...
