Wow thanks for the warm welcomes!

Here goes!

ty.jpg

I recently bought an ego-c upgrade and Kanger T2 tank from a store when I was visiting my family. After sampling a heap of different flavors (ALL VAPABLE) I also picked up some 1.8 RY4 and 1.8 Vanilla 100% PG base flavors from there to start my vaping journey. I was blown away at first, the RY4 was actually making cigarettes taste like absolute ish. I immediately fell in love! I really thought "this is IT!". After 17 years of smoking I finally have something I can switch to. Once I went through 10ml of RY4 and 10 ml of vanilla I became frantic trying to find good deals online. I live in a rural part or Texas and its either a 1hr 45 min trip to a vape store or buy online. Also, the store I bought from charged $8+ for 10ml :O...

After searching around online I found a shop called NicotineNirvana.com and ordered a 30ml bottle of RY4 80pg/20vg mix for $11 and upped the nicotine to 2.4 mg and COULD NOT VAPE IT AT ALL....tasted like burnt ...cardboard...trash...couldn't really put my finger on it but it was horrible. Also I forgot to mention that I had some troubles with my coil...I have gone through 3 coils in less than three weeks...honestly I'm not sure what is going on because my girlfriend has the exact same setup and her coil still looks great, and wicks are white. She was vaping some pomegranate .6mg. My wicks are burned right where the coil is...even after a few days...burned.

Anyways back to the flavors..while waiting for the Nicotine Nirvana Order to come through I found another place (AzureVaping.com) that had better pricing and $0 shipping so I got carried away and ordered $34 of stuff from there and here is how that went.

- 2.4mg RY4 80pg/20vg - Unvapable as the other Ry4 from NN.com

- 2.4mg Rob's Blackjack 80pg/20vg - Tasted like women's perfume if I didn't inhale, if I do harsh metallic/trash taste with god awful throat hit

- 1.6mg Coffee n Creme 80pg/20vg - At first I thought this was pretty good but has progressively gotten worse. The smooth coffee taste turned to well...sort of like inhaling fumes from burnt coffee beans... but it has been by the far the most vapable out of the bunch.

-2.4mg Belgian Waffle 80pg/20vg - Unvapable to me at first but I have been experimenting with mixing in some store bought VG and its alright I guess as long as I dont inhale it.

-.8 Vanilla Mint 80pg/20vg (for girlfriend) -Have not tested

-2.4mg vanilla tobacco 100% VG - have not tested.

-2.4mg coffee n caramel 80pg/20vg - have not tested.

-.8mg Apple 100% VG (for girlfriend) - Tested...vapable but I hate apple :(

I feel like I made a big mistake buying mostly 2.4 nicotine...and of course all sales are final online. I bought some VG from the store yesterday in hope of trying to dilute the high nicotine (read about it online) and mixed 36 drops of Belgian waffle with 7-9 drops of VG and it made it slightly less obnoxious to inhale. Also this is on a fairly new coil maybe 2 days old. I am actually vaping it right now as I'm typing. If I puff on it like a cigar its somewhat pleasurable but the moment I try to inhale that horrid metallic trash taste comes through...followed by a headache in either my eye...or the medulla oblongata...it makes me want to smash the EGO every time and smoke a cigarette.

I really need help in a few areas:
-I am tired of the wick setup already with the Kanger T2...its just not very well designed in my opinion. I was looking for something that accommodates a heavy vaper, and also less wick to deal with. Also, since I have been trying lots of juices I would like something easier to clean and replace for another flavor.

-One other thing I forgot to mention is that my EGO-c and my girlfriends are machined differently. She has 1/2 extra threads where the battery meets the tank which offers MUCH MUCH better airflow. I have to unscrew mine a bit otherwise its like sucking on a extra thick milkshake. I am planning on taking it back but if they offer in store credit should I go with something else?

-Is there any way to salvage these 2.4 mg juices? I am pretty convinced that its the 2.4 causing the bad taste/unbearable throat hit. I have already let them steep (the ones I have tried) for about 1 1/2 days and nothing seems to have improved.

Well, I've never used the Kanger, but on the juice side of things, you could definitely cut them down with some more VG (or PG). That's going to do two things: lower the nic level and subdue the flavors a bit. That has made some juices vapable for me in the past. The other thing you can do with them is buy some more juice with low or 0 nic and mix them together. You could even combine flavors (vanilla tobacco and RY4 for instance) RY4 is just caramel/vanilla/tobacco after all.
On the Rob's Blackjack, you might try setting it in a cool/dark place with the cap and dripper tip off for a day... that perfume taste may be unevaporated alcohol and leaving it open for a day will allow that alcohol to evaporate.

I'm not surprised your coils are giving out before the lady's, same experience here. My girlfriend is happy vaping considerably less, and at a lower nic level. I tend to chain vape, and am quite happy with 30mg liquid for now (only 2 weeks off smokes, round 2).

I'm not sure how much correlation there is between atomizer funk and nicotine level, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's huge variability between tobacco flavors (RY4 is tobacco, right?). Some use more tobacco "stuff" for flavoring, and some even contain WTA (whole tobacco alkaloids, I believe) that contain additional chemicals to promote usability of nicotine. I don't know that I've tried these, but I hear they can make the experience more intense.

A screwy coil can also be responsible for an unpleasant experience, and you're really at the mercy of the atomizer there. I hope you get something figured out, and welcome to ECF!

and if you were vaping 1.8 the 2.4 is 24mg stuff...I have a 0mg vanilla custard I order from Vista Vapors that "fixes" just about every funky juice I get and I've started to dilute down in mg's from the 24mg I started vaping at, I'm good with an 11mg or 6mg about 8 weeks after quitting smoking....OR you could order a 0mg RY and cut it.

I have gotten two bad Kanger Prot2 coils in a row from a batch once...

good luck

Welcome to ECF!

A lot of others have already pitched in with some good information. I would recommend diluting your juices with some VG, or if you get the opportunity to purchase the same juice in 0mg Nicotine, mix it together. Doing it that way lets you maintain the flavor.

The 24 mg nicotine is pretty strong. I personally prefer a higher VG content versus PG, but everyone's taste is different. I smoked cigars, approximately the equivalent of a pack and a half per day when I switched to vaping. I vape 12mg nicotine in most of my flavors, but some I have cut back to 9mg or even 6mg.

GinnyTX provides another great option, find a "neutral" flavor to mix with the others to dilute it a little.

As for coils, depending on how much you vape, and how hard (chain vaping) you may only get a week out of a coil. Check YouTube for some great videos on how to dry burn coils to clean them and make them last longer.

Again, welcome, and enjoy!

There are a lot of good points in the above posts. I personally started at 36mg nic and stayed there for years. I've recently cut down to 12 and 8mg mixes and have noticed a dramatic change in both flavor and throat-hit. The higher nic levels are definitely a bit more harsh (especially when you drop your ohm levels in your coils). One thing that I have not noticed is any real change in my coils... I don't believe that the nic level is damaging your coils at all, but I don't have a fix for that problem either.
I hope at least some of the information in this thread helps you out, anyway...

Everyone has been more than helpful! I tried mixing some of the vanilla mint .6 in with the coffe and creme last night and was really surprised. I made what tasted like mint chocolate chip ice cream....IT ROCKED. Vaped it like a chimney and didn't get a headache or any dizziness or discomfort. Also, I started priming it every now and then before a series of draws and it seemed to make a difference in taste consistency. One thing is for sure I am going to stay away from the 2.4 until I can test a smoother juice that suits e at that level. No more shots in the dark online.

Also, since there are a lot of Texans in here...is any one going to Vape Blast in San Antonio Aug 15-17th? Admission is free woot woot  I plan on going, maybe I'll see some of yall there...or you will see me haha. I'm kind of hard to miss at 6 foot 6.

Glad to hear that you're working things out and created your very first custom flavor, klip!! 24mg may just be too high for you, if you cut it down and aren't having nic fits, then there's your answer! I started at 36mg, but I smoked 2 P/D of Camel nonfilters! I stayed at 36 for a long time, but I was mostly using carto-tanks. Now that I've finally stepped up and gotten a decent rig, I'm down to either 12 or 8 depending on mood. Best advice? Stick with it and keep experimenting... I never had this much fun with the Camels!!

Doubt I'm going to make it to Vape Blast... my work schedule is insane right now... :(

A big warm welcome from The Woodlands (just north of Houston).

I tried the Kanger T2 and quickly progressed to the Kanger Evods, Kanger Aero Tanks and now I'm testing the Kanger Evod glass. I didn't like the experience with the T2. I've found that the Evods and Kanger Aero tanks are a much consistent performing devices. They're all bottom coils. I was not happy with the gurgling when I got the Aero tanks so I switched the coil to a regular single Evod coil and that is what I settled on. Just got the Evod glass with dual coil and am pretty happy with the dual coil performance on that one so far. It may have something to do with the size of the tank and the dual coils wicking better than the bigger tanks.

I order my hardware (Evods, coils, etc) from Discount Vapers. I buy my eliquids from Spring Vapor locally. My all day vape (ADV) is their Black Label RY4, but I vape other flavors throughout the day so my taste buds don't go dormant on me. Their pg/vg blend is 50/50, but they will custom blend whatever percentages you want. They have deals where you can get 3 bottles of 15 ml, 30 ml, and 50 ml for less than you would pay for each bottle.

Good luck to you on your vape journey, and again welcome to ECF!
