I was just reading this forum the years before - and now I decided to register.

Basically I'm into Golden Greek and dripping (VA addict) and sometimes I try to build my own mech boxes...but since I am not good at soldering, I usually fail a little bit.

I haven't dabbled with trying to build my own box mods yet. I'm curious about it - I love seeing what people do with "ordinary" things....

I haven't dabbled with trying to build my own box mods yet.

I failed with the first one - and I think the steepest learning curve is not based on the soldering itself (that was my basic assumption), but how to fit all the parts in your box in a more or less "economic" way. What I find quite annoying is the final assembly of the soldered units inside the box. I always find I left one wire too long and need to clip it inside the box. After my 2 x 26650 box with a mosfet I am tempted to build a 4 x 26650 with each of 2 being in a row and the double-packs again parallel. Doubles volts and capacity. I just need to find my self a proper "cubic" unit.
