Hey there,

I'm Danny from Ft Lauderdale.

I recently started vaping to get me away from my pack a day cancer stick habit.

I haven't touched a cig in 2 weeks so far.

I love to smoke hookah and vaping reminds me a lot of that. It's no cig but it's still quite enjoyable.

I do still like the occasional cigar on a special occasion.

Anyways, I always feel weird with these intros so I'll end it here.

Thanks for reading,

FR

I'm trying not to do what I always do when I get into something new and just buy a whole bunch of stuff online that I don't need or want just yet. I have a tendency to jump into things too quickly.

I'm starting this small. I bought my evod blister pack thingy, and extra battery and charger, a few clearomizers, and a few flavors of juice in varying nic levels from a local store.

So far so good. I'm at 18mg nic and that's doing the trick so far. :) I hope to trim down to a lesser nic level soon.

Hi Frierat, good to see someone from my old stomping grounds. Gave up Sunny South FL for NY. Ya I know, I'm nuts. Good call not buying to much stuff too quick. I too jump too fast at new stuff. Don't look to drop your nic to fast. I went from 24 to 12 and almost went back to smoking! Went back up to 18 and it's better, but I miss my 24mg fix.

You did it backwards!!

Yeah I have enough hobbies as it is. I'm a homebrewer and already have a room dedicated to my evil brews!!

Good call. The 18mg seems to be just fine.

I tried 24mg at first but it gave me awful headaches. I thought it was vaping in general and almost said screw it. Then I go to reading and realized I might just be over doing it so I cut to 18mg.

No issues so far!!

Hi firerat and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are happy with your starter kit - which is fantastic. Vaping can be a simple way to quit smoking, a hobby, or a full-on money pit where the chase for the latest and greatest can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Just my two cents of advice - Make sure you have a backup battery, charger and clearomizer with heads for those times when things go wrong, because they will. It's a nightmare running around looking for a charger or a clearomizer head when you are three hours into a nic fit. It's easy to reach for the smokes at that point, so be prepared.

In the meantime, enjoy the forum, it's a great resource for everything vaping related and you might even make a few friends along the way.

Hello and welcome, firerat, and congrats on your switch. Slow and steady is a good way to go. :) Spent my teenage yrs and early 20's in Ft. Laud. and Laud-by-the-Sea. My oldest born in Broward Gen. This was back in late 1950's, early 60's. Totally different place now. Huge!

I was born at Broward General myself.

I'm a little younger though...:) And yeah it certainly has changed down here.

Way ahead of you!!

I have a charger at home, one for the car, and one for the office, a few clearomizers, and a spare battery. I have a little carry case too with my extras.
