Welcome to the forum fellow Texan and congrats to your and your husband on choosing vaping. What flavor are you and your husband vaping? For your husband, if he is truly wanting to quit analogs, I have found that getting either a savory or sweet tasting juice that is not tobacco flavored really helps because it makes the analogs taste disgusting. I wish you and your husband the best of luck on your vaping journey and do not be afraid to ask questions, everyone here is more than willing to answer any question, no matter how silly it may sound.

Another Texan chiming in here from the Austin area. I'm in a similar boat to you guys. I started with a "21st Century" kit purchased at my local Walmart gas station about a week ago. It worked OK, but tasted like... ..... The menthol was mildly better as it tasted like minty ..... After a couple of days though, as bad as they were, they tasted better than cigarettes to me, or at least smelled better. Also, the battery life was nothing to get excited about.

Yesterday, I stopped by a vape shop in San Marcos Tx and purchased a 510-T with black cherry juice. Very nice! I need to go back as soon as I can scrounge up another 10 and get another flavor. The black cherry is nice, but I think want something not as sweet every now and then. Maybe a nice coffee flavor will hit the spot.

Anyway, best of luck. The first three days without cigarettes were the hardest. I think there is more in there that is addictive than just nicotine. I got through by vaping a lot all day long. Now, I don't even want a "real" cigarette.

Welcome Lubbock, former Amarilloan here. Escaped to FL many years ago. Congrats on your journey. Day 74 for me. Started with a cig-a-like but the battery just wasn't good enough. Moved to the ego twist and that's all I feel I'll need. Playing around with the right e-liquids now. I hope to find a few and eventually stop vaping altogether one day. But for now, vaping strong. Good luck!

Welcome to ECF fellow Texan. As my wife said (Ca_girl2TX_girl) said. What got us to quit fully got both of us to quit, was the sweet and savory flavors, because of the fact that once you find a flavor that you like, when you want to have an analog, it will taste disgusting. its been almost 3 months since we fully quit and haven't wanted a analog. I am mainly using cinnamon red hot from a local B&M and I order different ones online to see what else we like flavor wise. Any questions that you might have don't be afraid to ask. we have all been there before and everyone is here to help with whatever questions that you might have.... Happy Vaping!

Welcome to the ECF, and to a better life for both of you, CactusRose! glad to see a fellow vaper(s) from Lubbock!:toast:

I'm glad to see you guys went right into the spinners, and not the cig-alikes... I started with a kit from V2 (which, for a cigalike kit, wasn't bad), but found I wanted a better vape, and grabbed some spinners myself within a week of beginning to vape...once I got the spinners it was so much easier to not smoke. This of course turned into a whole other obsession...

As others have said, I'd recommend trying some of the sweeter/ fruitier juices, that's what really got me off the stinkies easier as well (mmm...caramel-green apple...) I do a lot of DIY juices, so I do keep a mentholated 555 on hand for those moments when I "want" a stinkie. Seems to work awesome for me.

For the hubbie, 3-4 a day from 30 or so is amazing, and no small feat... I'd wager in little bit, he will just stop of his own accord too. Many vapers end up with that result, even if they have no intentions of "quitting"... drastic cut back, then eventually losing the urge for a stinkie all together.

Thanks! There's so much info here, I've been reading about what to look for in upcoming legislation. This is a great site. Luckily, we have a wonderful store close by, so they were able to help us get started without being overwhelmed and discouraged.

Are you referring to 180vapes? I know we've got a vapestore on 19th, but I've not had a chance to check them out... if there's another B&M, lemme know!!!

If you or the hubbie have any questions, always feel free to ask us here on the ECF! I'm sure someone will have the answer!
