    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hey, I'm a part time smoker, full time vaper, weening off the bad stuff slowly but surely.
I've vaped for a few years now but never been part of a community as such, so hi everyone!

Interesting post. Can you pin-point the reason it's taking you so long to get off the cigarettes?

I think it's more of the social side to it, I didn't start vaping to get off cigarettes too, I used to vape 0mg for the flavours, I cut down on tobacco intake massively in the past year and got myself a smok Nord 2 recently to try curb smoking altogether, but it didn't really hot the spot like the big kit did, I'm on 3mg now and only smoke a couple of times a day during working hours, I think it's more that I feel obnoxious blowing big clouds when talking to the other smokers in the office,
But I also don't think fully stopping was something I ever really wanted to achieve, although cutting back to what I smoke now is huge
Sorry, this turned into a little essay haha

    Ello,
why keep smoking when you're vaping already?
I mentioned in a reply a few up but the gist is that I feel socially smoking with work colleagues is less obnoxious (I'm not a huge fan of smaller systems as I don't feel they hit the spot)
I massively cut down when I started vaping but I feel like once I want to completely stop smoking vaping will make the process super easy compared to before

Hello and welcome! Many of us were "dual users" at first. Vaping helped my go from a pack a day down to 5 smokes. Took a few months then finally quit. Hopefully someday you quit completely, but glad you found vaping enjoyable and helped you cut down. Maybe a better juice would make the pod more doable. Don't feel like you have to smoke to fit in, but I do agree about blowing clouds might be as accepted by co-workers.

No problem. Essays can be very useful in figuring out what's going on.

You say you're vaping 3 mg/ml now. Is that what you used with the Nord as well? Pod systems like the Nord are usually used with (much) higher concentrations of nicotine, which may be why it's not working for you. There are basically three types of vaping with inversely-related juice consumption and nicotine concentration:
    • Pod mods - Goes through a tiny amount of juice with very high nicotine concentration
    • MTL - Uses more juice at a moderate concentration
    • DL - Uses a lot of juice at a much lower concentration
The basic idea is to get roughly the same amount of nicotine regardless of your system. Since the Nord uses so little juice per vape, you need a much higher concentration if you want as much nicotine as you get with your regular vape.

I used 16mg with the Nord, but it also felt like i wasn't taking anything back too, i'm used to pretty high vapour production so it always felt like nothing was really going on, it took the nicotine craving off me but not the entire craving for a 'real' smoke, I do still use the Nord from time to time (With 3mg juice) just because the flavour is so much different.
I do think that stopping is something I could do with the right mind set, I'm just not fully sure I want to quit completely yet

Hi From Cape Town Z.A. I think this forum will help. There's nothing like friends to support you even when you think you don't need it.
Hope you get the right setup for you and a juice to match. Sometimes it's not the nicotine that urges you to stop ,but a certain flavour that hits the spot.
    Good luck forward.

    Hi and welcome!

I didn’t start vaping with the intention to quit, either, although I did quit easily and quickly. Nobody was more surprised than I was.

I can ( I should say, we can) assist if you decide you’re ready to fully quit.

BUT don’t let anyone bully you if you don’t want to, or aren’t ready yet, to completely give up smoking.

The name of the game is harm reduction. Every cigarette you don’t have is a win.
