Welcome to ECF. There is a ton of info on here, so as has been said, be prepared to be on information overload. Before I bought anything, I lurked here for a while and just followed different threads. There were so many new terms and acronyms, but in short order what people were saying started to make sense. This is a great place with knowledgeable, supportive folks, so you've come to the right place.

Everyone's vaping journey is different. There are a lot of good gear options to get started. I am grateful that a friend steered me to something simple, but it worked fine for me. I started with an eGo-t upgraded battery (for more battery life), Kanger MT3SBCC clearomisers (BCC stands for Bottom Coil Clearomizer), a few menthol type juices (because I smoked menthols) and, I think, a watermelon flavor (which at the time I did not like).

Over time I have added a ton of different juice flavors (since I don't smoke anymore, why limit myself to flavors that are similar to what I smoked) and have upgraded my battery to a Vision Spinner VV (variable volt so that I can adjust voltage to find the sweet spot of different flavors).

Many will offer their opinions and experience. I found it valuable to make my vape experience the best it can be. Some very basic stuff I was offered was to stay hydrated and to have backups to all of my gear and backups for my backups so that a dead battery or other equipment failure would not give me an excuse to buy a pack of smokes or bum a cigarette. So far it has been successful.

Glad you joined ECF and I hope you find vaping to be a great experience. Keep the vape and namaste.

What jarbs said about this being an information overload, It's like that.

It's also a good way to spend money Lol. And not in the way you'll regret, I don't regret spending the amount of money ( and time ) i've invested into this. It's helped my health considerably and you can't EVER put a price on that.

Welcome!

quick question.. i'm a heavy smoker about 30-40 sticks daily.... what liquid do you recommend i start with?
do you still get the same "satisfaction" when vaping?
or do you alternate between the both when starting out?

There are several long threads addressing that question! I was a 15-20 cig/day smoker and quit the day I started vaping... and it was actually amazingly easy. But a lot of folks, probably the majority judging from what I've read, keep smoking for a while and gradually cut down.

My advice is to get a reasonably high nicotine level to start with (at least 18 mg/ml, and maybe 24) and vape as much as you need to to suppress your desire to smoke (if that's your goal). You've really got to vape a lot to overdo, and even then the consequences are pretty minor (a little queasiness or jumpiness, maybe a dull headache).

But above all, you've just got to jump in, and make adjustments as you go; if you need to smoke, just try to cut down. Don't put pressure on yourself unless you feel the need to do so.

You might find it easier than you expect. It's not the same as smoking... but after a while, it's a lot better.

I would suggest as a first time vaper you look into the KangerTech EVOD. I've been using mine with a good menthol juice. I was a 25 cig/day smoker. I didn't need to smoke once I started vaping. I didn't feel the need to anymore. I get equal satisfaction from vaping, so I have quit smoking. Good luck!!

Oh, and the "satisfaction" is not as immediate. If you need a nicotine fix, a cigarette can give it to you in about 20 seconds (that's the one thing I miss.... that deep draw after not having any for a few hours). Hard to get that with vaping. You really need to plan ahead a little and vape before you're ready to climb walls.

Another vote for the kanger evod starter kit. All inclusive, easy to work with (except filling those lil buggers) and extra coils. Find a local vape shop and go sample their juices. Tobacco flavors were nasty for me, so I went with 24mg nic and a peppermint flavor. I'm down to 20mg and lower in the late evening. Vaping to get the nic fix is different, draw (inhale) is different as the entire method of absorption. Think pipe or cigar smoker.
