Hi guys greetings from Mexico!
So i was looking for some info and i noticed i never did any post in the forum so, hello everyone.

Its been arround 15 yrs since i started smoking and near to 5 years vaping :D

So i started with an ego and at the same time bought a vamo v2 from a friend, tried some liquids from diferent vendors and also my friend was nice enough to send me some of his DIY e liquid stuff, as i didnt like the idea of spending extra cash on something i could do myself i got quickly into e liquid mixing with good success.

So i been researching every now and then about the new products in the marked and damn things have really changed in this last years it seems everyone is going sub ohm this days.

I would like to get some recommendations on what hardware is recommended if i want to keep above 1.5 ohm this days because all i see from local vendors and on the internet is sub ohm. Im currently using a vamo v2 and a vamo v5 and they work very good still so not really need to get something new but would like to be informed.

I would prefer if its 18650 battery compatible since i have couple of those for the vamos. But if theres someting so good thats worth getting other type feel free to mention it.

Thanks everyone that read this and keep on vaping it!

Any regulated mod will do.

As for atties (tanks)

Innokin Zenith
VandyVape Berserker
SXK Doggystyle 2k16 (this is a clone. It's awesome and CHEAP)
Vapefly Galaxies
Dvarw MTL
Siren I and II
Fumytech Rose
Cthulhu MTL
Nautilus Mini/Nautilus (with the BVC coils that work in both)

Just some to look at. They are ALL Mouth To Lung (MTL) which is what most of us who still vape above 1 ohm are considered.
If you want drop in coils (heads) then you'll be looking at the Zenith or the Nautilus line.
The rest of them are build your own coils, which sounds daunting, but is actually really easy and a great way to dial in your vape/cloud/taste to what works for you. Yes, it's a learning curve and takes some fiddling but the basics aren't hard at all.

There's also the Kayfuns but those are $$$$ and with the new MTL gear out these days, it's hard to justify the price

Thanks for the reply i will look at those tanks, i actually prefer RTA but also have a driper, im currently running a Taifun GT II(clone i guess got it from fasttech) and a RDA (i think it was phoenix clone style or something like that) so i have the coil doing pretty much nailed to what i like to vape.

MTL huh interesting i would say that's exactly what i do yeah.

Any particular favorite for mod that uses 18650 battery and is cheap?

Cheers!

safe distance from a black hole
Wismec P80
Smoant Battlestar mini
Eleaf Istick Pico
Just some I have and like for one reason or another, none perfect and each with shortcomings and plus's but good enough for me to do the job I want them to do.
Im a MTL vaper so I dont need high wattage devices, each of these last a day or two on one charge with the way I vape. They might not suit everyone.

Just make sure the mod you get can hold up to a 25mm atty. Ares, Berserker and Zenith are 24mm so the original Pico will have some atty "chin" or overhang. Doggystyle is 22mm.

In this picture from Left to Right
Doggystyle with Pico
Berserker with Pico 25
Ares with Eleaf Invoke (dual 18650)
Zenith with Kroma

while you may not be interested in temperature control mods, I suggest getting them simply for the fact that they usually offer upgradeable firmware...just because it's a tc mod doesn't mean that you have to use it ;) I stick to my power (watts) settings
other than that, it'd really just depend on what style you are looking for
something fairly easy noob - intermediate would be the aegis legend but it is a dual battery mod so it might be bulky for you
so it'd depend on if you are wanting a single battery mod or a dual battery mod (heck or even 3/4 lol)
something more tube shaped or boxy shaped....ect

Ok got it on the TC, but in my mind is like that rises price for someting i dont plan on using, but you have a good point. I was actually instantly looking away from tcs because of what i just said but watching reviews of couple mods seem like a good option.

I would say 1 or 2 battery maximum, tube shaped better but can try some box.

Looking at some stores on my country i found a cheap iStick Pico 21700 100W that doenst look bad at all.

Thanks to everyone i appreciate the advice and will look at the mods that Skwij and Jebbn sugested.
Thanks for the welcome somdcomputerguy!

All the love people.

Welcome and glad you joined.
One of the reasons sub ohm'g is being promoted is the on going cost of vaping is very profitable. It increases revenues in almost every aspect from liquid to coils and mods to name a few. Vaping for me is all about the juice in the RDA atomizer. The battery/mod helps me vape. Might like to read:

Hi and thanks everyone for the welcome and posting in here.

@Skwij if i get one will def give it a try to see how it works.

@r77r7r just did a quick googling about Mooch and it seems very interesting, will give it a deeper study to his tests for sure.

I have Efest purples batterys 18650 3000mah 30A, got one similar when starting, it was Efest 25A 2500mah wich now last very litle and since i liked how it performed i got the 30A ones, since i dont stress them with subohm i never had an issue with these batts.

@smacuser Thanks for the picture of your setup, looks nice, seems that kayfun is pricy but looks very solid.
I can def wrap wires good enough to vape with good flavor been using 32g kanthal mostly but tried some 28 and 30 before, imo the 32 gave me better flavor and nic delivery so i kept with it.

Im currently @ Cuernavaca wich is a city 80km (50 miles) from Mexico City.
Been watching a lot of good opinions on the pico family i might try one of those.

Best wishes people and thanks again for posting.
