Hi and welcome to the forum.
I bought the same kit about six months ago and had the same problem.
the base of the tank wasn't tight enough to make a positive connection.
With the glass removed, I used two pairs of pliers just above and below the airflow adjuster to tighten the base. Just a little snug is all it took to make it work.
I recommend maybe taping the tools so as not to leave tool marks on your new tank. I didn't use tape and left scratches on mine but it still works fine.
Not saying that's your problem, just sharing what happened to me. get it going and ENJOY! It's actually a great little mod.

Howdy. :) I agree, we need more information about your equipment to help
sort this out.

I notice you repeat "no smoke came out". Well, I would think that is a
good sign. :) Vaporizers produce vapor, not smoke. If you had actual
smoke, it may indicate you burnt the coil. The above is not meant as a
snide remark.

Actually am trying to help. If you had smoke, likely you burnt a coil
and need to replace it with a new one. This can happen when you do not
let the coil's wick, wick up enough juice to insulate the coil. Letting
the wick do the wicking up takes a moment or two. You may also prime a
coil by saturating the wicking material prior to starting to vape.

Ultimately though, we still need more information on your equipment,
your use to help further. Again, not being snide. We genuinely do want
to help. We're not able to without all the needed information.
