If I can't get this thing working, I'm going to order a bottle of e juice from fast tech and vape THE WHOLE THING!!

My problem is roaming ohms going lower and lower. I cannot figure it out. I've been building since the days of IGO-Ls and Kayfuns. I can build my Cthulhu and drippers in my sleep.
I'm using 26 gauge kanthal, 2.5 ID, dual cool. This should be .5 on the head, but it drops and drops and cannot hold. I see no shorts, my wire is tidy, and no metal is touching.

What gives? Can an atomizer be simply non functional? I'm so confused and frustrated.

(Swear words)

Thanks guys!

I would try another atty. If the readings are stable, you know that your ohm reader or mod is working correctly. Then rebuild your original atty with another coil. If that is still having an ohm drop, check your 510 insulator for damage, your deck for loose pieces of wire that may touch your center post. If you had higher ohm readings, you know it's loose coil wires but lower than planned resistance usually indicates a short somewhere.

My other attys are spot on when read on the mod. I'm going to clean and blow it out again to try and fish out any metal. Thank you.

Dont know if it will help (never tried it before) but have you put it on an ohm reader with out a build on it to see if it gives you an erroneous reading? Thought maybe if it had junk in it touching something, it would throw out numbers besides the "1" ot normally would say.

Even though we're all 'experienced' builders we still have brain farts on things that others see as obvious.

^ that and there very well be something wrong with it. It could be a microscopic metal shaving or it could be something bad enough that it would be best to contact the vendor for an exchange.

I got a VF clone and it wasn't working with any of my attys. Here there were two tiny metal shavings I could barely see in the 510 threads. Once cleaned it was perfectly fine. I also kept having issues with my expromizer giving me low resistance readings and the positive block was a little loose.

I'm going to go home after work, disassemble again, and hit it with an air gun everywhere. Hopefully it's just metal flakes.

So....I'm not crazy!

I took apart the base completely. Looks like the firing pin goes in at an angle and touches the lip of the hole where it attaches to the deck.

Stuff happens :(

I'm guessing its not fixable. Take photos and contact the retailer. I'm sure they will replace it, and probably let you just keep that one for parts.

Here you go. Sorry for the quality. You can see that the part the pin attaches to is off center.

Dang! Yeah that would cause a short. Glad you found it.

I'm lucky I found a post describing how to take the base apart!

Thanks for all your help! I contacted the vendor (TBD liquids) and he had a shipping notice to me in minutes. Great customer service.

Can't wait to get the replacement in and enjoy that sweet Billow goodness!
