Check out Liberty Flights for the Riva Ego. Click on the 20% coupon code on the top left and it's $29.99. Get a box of Boge 2.0 cartomizers, a couple of drip tips and you're all set. Except the juice.
Excellent advice, my 2nd kit was the Riva Ego, after I read and got advice from helpful people like you, in the ECF forum. I have since bought 3 kits for people, that ask me what they should buy and they all love um.

Are you sure it was an ego? If you use cartomizers they don't leak at all. I've never had a drop leak while vaping. The batteries last about 8 hours. I have a 1000 mah battery that lasts over a day.

Maybe he had a 510? That's smaller and the battery is smaller.

Edit - I'm "not" 100% up to speed on my lingo etc. He said it was an eGo and ended up upgrading the tips and battery. It still leaked while in his pocket but overall he was satisfied. However, that may change the next time I talk to him. Haha..

Hey and welcome. I am new too, and did the same exact thing. I bought some expensive disposable e-cigs which was a total waste of 25 dollars. Lasted less than a day, and the battery died after only two carts and it came with four!

Im new too, and just ordered my Joye Ego and still waiting for it so I can't help much with questions other than what I researched. But welcome and good luck with your decision to quit smoking!

Edit: I bought mine from Liberty-Flights.com and i've heard nothing but good things about them. The Ego kit comes with two atomizers, two batteries, usb charger and the rest of accessories for only $50.00 which I found to be the best deal out of the many many sites i looked at. A lot of them only had one atomizer, or one battery, or not a USB charger for the same price or more.

Thx, I will definitely look into it.

What is the difference between riva ego and joye ego? Are they the same? All the models are confusing me.

Sounds like you're getting great advice. I forgot to tell you that the Go-Go batteries are 1300 mAh and they last and last. The cartomizers hold so much juice, I'm tempted to get the adapter they sell so I can use them on my KR808D-1 batteries. I just asked Hubby about his Go-Go and he corrected me a little...he said the battery lasts him ALL day, and then it will finally run out sometime early to mid-day the next day. So i stand correct, sorry about that mis-info. Just wanted to give as accurate info as I can, to help you decide. I know the angst it can cause, trying to figure out which model to start with. The Go-Go kit is about $60 and then I would get some additional juice elsewhere, so you can have more selection. This last part would be true whether you get the Ego or any other type of E-cig. And no matter how good the e-cig is that you get, you'll probably end up wanting more...either different types or more batteries of what you have. It's kind of an insurance policy, in case one of your favorite batteries goes belly up on you. Looks like your getting closer to deciding which one, and I'm excited for you. Please keep us posted on how you're doing!

Just different brands of the same thing. The Joye is $10 more but has a bit longer of a warranty on the battery. Both are good. I like the button a little better on the Riva.

Welcome Cheez! You have received a lot of great advice so far as we all have on this awesome forum. It sounds like you are getting a handle on what your plan of action will be in the beginning and down the road as well. Allow me to offer my support for the eGo-type of 510 system to start out with... Either the Joye or the other clones of it.

I made the decision based on the eGo's long-lasting battery, fine overall performance, universal availability and reasonable price. Seems that everybody carries the eGo in one form or another. It really peeves me to see "Out Of Stock" frequently emblazoned on a vendor's website - just when I've got a small window of opportunity with ready cash to BUY NOW! Grrr! You will not have that issue with an eGo.

You will also find that virtually EVERY vendor on the planet carries aftermarket 510 atomizers, cartomizers, batteries, cartridges, widgets, whatnots and stuff like that there... all in-stock and ready to ship. Some humongous cartomizers are available for those marathon vaping sessions too.

As far as leaking is concerned, the only time I had a cartomizer leak was when I got real wild with the juice in the first few days of using them. I figured "more is better right?" so I filled that goomer right to the brim and jammed the little white cap on. Naturally, the force of pressure on a liquid will not be denied so it squirted the precious juice out the other hole onto my favorite Sunday go-to-meetin' trousers. Reddish liquid, tan pants. Not good. Lesson learned. Been fine since.

After you have gained some insight into the whole new world of vaping, you will be in a better position to determine the next step you might want to take. There is a bewildering array of vaping devices available on the market - all of them have a loyal following and all for very good reasons. They seem to work wonderfully well but are they right for you? I dunno and most likely you won't either right now. I'm learning that taking the baby steps first with a simple gadget is a good way to be. The eGo gets my vote on that score, maybe it will for you too. It just works like crazy! Later on? We'll worry about that when the time comes.

Best of luck!

Oh, just remembered one more thing...there are times when it is handy to have a very tiny PV for stealth vaping. The 510 has that covered as well. Just buy a couple of the standard batteries or a mini box mod plus a charger. You can use all your existing carts, attys, cartos etc. without fiddling around, keeping track of incompatible, proprietary connectors. just another plus!

Sorry guys. Been reading and reading and then I go to the vendor websites and my head is spinning even more. Hahaha.. What is the difference between ego, 510, 901, and kr808d? Oh my, this is not easy!! I guess I just want a reputable product that has a large battery, a tip I can drip juice and holds a good volume, low resistant atomizer(or is that a cartomizer?) and hot enough to produce good vapor 3.4V and above(do I want dual coil?), either manual or auto, USB charger, and doesn't leak/reliable as can be? Should I just purchase these parts seperately rather than getting a starter kit? US made is a plus too as I like to support our local business, even though, I know I may need to pay a little more. That also goes for the juice and none of the obscure additives/ingredients that overseas products may have. There's ALOT of for juice so I'm asking for recommendations for that too. Thanks again!

I'd look into the echo. It's on backorder though.

Echo Series | Cropduster901.com

The echo has complicated things for me because I was all decided one the ego and then they started talking about it on the general thread and now I'm just not sure which onne I want but I'm pretty sure I'm going to give the echo a shot. I can always pick up an ego later because they're so inexpensive :)
