Hello all, I have been poking around the forum. I have read and learned a lot here already.

My name is Ashley, as my username stated I am a mom of 3, 32 years old. I have been smoking since I was 13 years old, so 19 years. I made the switch to a vape Friday, 4 days ago.

I am on a Joytech eGo AIO with 6mg juice. I'm not here to toot my own horn, but I feel I'm doing great with it! Fri night I had one cigarette with my husband just because he was smoking. Saturday is had one from the car in a parking lot to the store out of habit, it was gross and burnt my throat. Sunday was a rough day for me, I had 2 cigarettes that day. Monday is had one because my vape was charging.

I smoked almost 2 packs of Marlboro menthol light 100's daily. I never thought I could put them down. Now I can't stand them. I am now having to deep clean my car from months of smoking to and from work, I am able to smell my laundry detergent, perfume and shampoo on me.

Since the ego is so cheap I have already ordered one for the Mister and will be ordering one for my dad soon unless there is something better. Any suggestions for a 60 year old 2 pack a day smoker of pall mall reds?

Hi Mom & welcome
Toot, toot, toot. There I blew your horn for you and congrats on 4 whole days, soon to be weeks then months then years.

It is hard to buy a device for someone else but maybe you could get a spare for yourself (highly recommended as you don't want to be cut short) and either invite them along or get a different device and let them try it out a while.

Good luck with it.

Hello and welcome! Glad that device is working well for you and hopefully it will work well for your husband. When or if you outgrow that there is much to choose from for now anyways. Your dad may do well with the AIO also. We here always recommend backups, and backups for your backups should anything go wrong or another one is charging. Glad you joined, and we are all here for each other in the journey. :)

Welcome @Mom2three04

The eGo AIO is a good little e-cig but you will certainly need back-ups. There have been many casualties with these cheap and basic products. Mine works, so do most of the others (I give them away to people) but long-term you need to prepare.

The Cubis tank (Joyetech) with the AIO 0.6ohm atomizer head (coil, replacement) works just as well, maybe better, as you have adjustability on a variable power battery (mod). There is even a Cubis 'pro' tank. I rate them having cursed about them for months and saying Joyetech were nothing but a company selling untested rubbish. I still stand by that comment in regard to the 0.5 and 1.5 atomizers... dreadful...

So, if you like the AIO, maybe get a 'mod' e-cig with the Cubis tank. You might need to steal the drip tip off the AIO mind you. :)

Nothing Wrong with Tooting your Own Horn. Quitting Smoking can be one of the Hardest Things a person can do in their Life.

So I say, Toot as Loud as you Want!

Gosh, you could hide at least 3, maybe 4 MVP Pro mods in that carry case. The stand might need some reinforcement mind you.

Welcome and glad you joined. Wow, you are doing great. I use to like to smoke too, now it's like trying to inhale a dirty ash trey. I could only stand a couple of puffs and had to trash it.
With regards to trying to interest others, go for it. I have one relative who I have been delicately hinting about the advantages of vaping and they are going to give it a try shortly (2 years working on this). The main thing is you do not want to beat them over the head with quitting. Needs to be their idea and has to be a good reason. My relative is quitting because the cost is now punitive and it is their idea.
"Since the ego is so cheap I have already ordered one for the Mister" , Misters are different, good move. Best advice I can give is start simple and try to learn every basic part of vaping, then step up (if you must) to advance ways of vape.
"Any suggestions for a 60 year old 2 pack a day smoker of pall mall reds?" Might have them read a few articles below before you spend any money on equipment, helps if they choose their own.

Thank you all!!

I'm still going strong with my little friend here.. she still needs a name:)I did try to go up on the mg of nicotine because I am literally puffing away what feels like all day. I tried 12mg, it was way too strong. I'll be going back to have it mixed again to lower the nicotine. I have been off work while getting used to the difference in vaping and smoking. I go back tomorrow, we'll see how it goes.

The one I ordered for the man will be here shortly. We were supposed to quit together, but since I'm the one that could never quit and he's always quit cold turkey he didn't think it would be a problem. Now here we are I've quit and he's still buying cigarettes

If you're happy with the results of the AIO there's nothing says you can't stay with it. All to often I see people buying more and more gear when what they have is sufficient to keep them off the stinkies. Yes it's nice to have the latest and greatest mod out there, but most times it's not necessary. I'm still using the same Kanger Kbox I bought two years ago. I also have a Provari topped with either a Svoemesto V3 or Magma Paradigm.
