Hi,

I started vaping 9 days ago (on the 6th) and I'm still going strong. It was quite easy for me to give up analogs. I went from 4 on the first day to 3½ on the second to 1½ on the third. I haven't smoked a single cigarette (analog) since then.

I've been smoking for ±25 years (started at age 13) and have never tried to quit - this is the first time. Oh, and I smoked at least 20 Winston Filters every day for about 20 years. Also, whenever I tried smoking "lighter" brands, I would just end up smoking more that 20 a day.

Welcome and congrats! I am a relative noob myself. I have been vaping since early January and gave up the analogs just a couple of days into it. I think I am up to about 35 days smoke free now. If your experience is similar to mine you will find that it really doesn't get any tougher than what you've probably already experienced. It gets much easier and I have found my experience to be virtually effortless. I don't even think about cigs at all and I can smell them a mile away. It's not pleasant either, I can't believe I used to smell like that. If you want to get a real wake-up call, after about a week or two walk through a common smoking area and see what you think. It hit me one night as I walked into Walmart. I passed the area just outside the store where everyone smokes and the ashtrays are and I seriously thought I would vomit. No wonder non-smokers hated us so much!

Good luck to you all and keep up the good fight.

(oops, just saw my sig, make that almost 37 days...see I'm not even really counting anymore...)
