hello everyone
i am seriously wanting to buy a e-cig but i need to ask you guys whats the best for me, what do u use? what did u used to smoke?
i smoke 10 to 20 handmade roll ups per day amber leaf and have been since the age of 16, i am now 25 and am thinking of health getting older and wiser
i am liking the look of the refillable set ups witht he liquid rather than the cartidge type, but what is the most ideal?
i have looked on youtube ect ect for reviews but to be honest i would rather ask you guys.
so ideally the e-cig needs to immitate what i am smoking now, eg handmade roll ups

so i make my roll up slightly skinnyer than a pencil and it will be gone within 9 puffs i suck the life out of them

i really have no clue at the moment accept there is a fluid type and a cartridge type but im liking the lquid type just from looking around ect,

thanks guys, you could potentially saving my life in the future XXXXX:blush:

Welcome James!
I used to smoke just over a pack a day of Pall Mall Menthol 100s. Kick in the gut, I know. :) You don't mention what size you can deal with. If you want a cigarette size, I'll stay out of it. If you can deal with one about the size of a Sharpie, my personal recommendation is a KGO (two batteries and charger), and atomizer to taste juice with, and either some Vision V3s or Kanger T3s. You're going to hear other recommendations, and they're great too, but those are my personal preferences for starting up (and I still use them, although I have upgraded since.)
By the way, it all works with fluid, but the clearomizers I mentioned is what I think you're talking about. :)

Hey and Welcome to ECF!
You've made a great first step to better health and you are doing it young!!
I have been vaping only one month and already my blood pressure has gone down remarkably and I don't wheeze anymore.
I like to have an NJOY King on hand for emergencies.other than that I like my eGo C2 upgrade, but there are tons of great options for vaping. I just found that the e cig alone was not enough for me after a while. With any of the PVs that have good batteries and are easy to fill with e liquid and maintain. I have spent quite a bit so far, but I do use all the things that I have bought (cause I listened to ppl here:))

Hi James...
I hand rolled drum to the tune of 40-50 a day for over 20 years. Smoked for 35+, but hand rolled the last 20 of my smoking career.
After a lot of reading and wondering I bought an ego kit and was smoke free within 4 days. That was 2 years ago and there are WAY more options out there now. At first, like many new vapers, I thought I wanted a cigalike type device. Glad I went ego instead. Trust me...it wouldn't be long before you were unhappy with performance of a cig look alike. And if appearances are an issue, it wouldn't be long before you don't care what others think.

It's not a magic bullet....you still have to want to kick the smoking habit, but it is very possible. I tried every way known to man to quit and vaping was the only one that stuck and it was very easy and painless for me.

Lots of device options and shopping for them is half the fun. Good luck.

Hey james
i was in a very similar situation to you around xmas, I bought a titan tank from totally wicked, and at first it was great until i tried the
ego-t. The ego batteries last much longer than the titan(titan is a brand name for the 510-t) and the vapour and flavour is a lot better. Your right to stay away from the prefilled cartridges, they will cost you a fortune and half the time taste like donkey balls.

As a starter i would say go with an Ego-t and get a few small samples of different tobacco flavours. If you live close to a vaping shop go in and they will usually let you try a few flavours in the shop.

Finally when your going to buy one i would avoid totally wicked, due to the fact that they are pretty expensive and smaller retailers will generally have cheaper options for the same thing. I now buy most of my gear from china as its a lot cheaper but my juices i buy locally mainly as i get to try them before i buy.

i almost never suggest apv's to newbies..but right now for the price point i suggest Vamo with boge cartos, 24mg joose, i personally dont think it can be beat. There are other slightly cheaper kits and ways to go about it. But you would be right up there with the "times" with vamo. Good luck and welcome!!

I hand rolled for the last several years, although I added filters to my smokes.

I recently switched to vaping and I have a clone of a kGo which is a clone of an eGo lol. Basically what I have is an 1100mAh passthrough eGo type battery with rebuildable CE4+ type clearomizers. Add a couple extra clearomizers, some spare replacement heads, a couple 30ml bottles of e-liquid, and possibly a spare battery and you will be totally in business.

There are other solutions out there, this is what I did mostly because it was an inexpensive way to get started.

Hi, don't know if anyone already suggested this but if you going to start, it's best to do it right. I know it's confusing at first with the tons of info and varieties out there, so I'll try my best to keep it simple.

Best starter Ecig IMO: Ego-C Twist (trust me on the twist part, don't get the regular ego-c or other ego types if you're serious about vaping). Get the 1000mAh (longer battery life).

Dosage: for you, I'd start with 24mg nicotine

PG/VG mix in ejuice: after 6 years of vaping, I find 50 PG/50 VG is best. PG - (propylene glycol) for flavor and throat hit (it's safe, don't worry). VG - (vegetable glycerin) for vapor production. IMO both are equally important.

Tanks to hold juice: 3.5 mL DCT tank

Atomizer: 510 cartomizer (more specifically, 3.0 ohm - single coil - 2-hole punch)

Eh... I hope I didn't confuse you more! But this is the setup I recommend all my friends to start with and they all love it.

Good luck!

Most recommend an eGo battery because of it's ease. You just charge it, screw on a delivery system, and vape. I am no different. I DO recommend not starting with a clearomizer. I was not happy with its amount of vapor. I was not able to put that 1-2 smokes away until I was using a Smok cartomizer. It is very easy, and works great with my non-variable 1100 mAh Vision eGo.
BTW- I hand packed smokes for 5 years with a Top-a-matic, Criss Cross tobacco.
