Hi all from the UK!

i tried desperately to stop smoking for over ten years then discovered vaping recently, after much wrestling with guilt over my inability to stop using nicotine, I have accepted that for me it is just who I am. I suffer with anxiety, depression and feel that there is a genuine therapeutic benefit from nicotine and probably that is why I have found it virtually impossible to quit completely.

However, I have a self confidence issue. I feel almost criminal if I vape in the car, feeling that the world must be looking down on me as a common addict. I am desperately trying to not care, but I think I genuinely do, bearing in mind the recent press about people using vaporizers to smoke other drugs, which I don't and I wouldn't want anyone to think I was.

i am looking to upgrade from my starter kit now, as I am totally comfortable vaping privately at home, but not in front of my daughter who is only nine. I would like something that has a good battery life, good punch, and could be mistaken for being a pen in my mouth whilst doing the crossword, if that makes sense?!?! My current kit is good, and I am happy with it, but I want something for outside that is more discreet because I am not ballsy enough to not care about the mass amounts of snobs out there who I am convinced look down on me and my vaping. Any suggestions for pen type vaping kits? I would like to be able to change the atomizer? Or coil? Or whatever it is that gives out the burnt taste when it needs changing rather than replacing the whole top bit. God you can tell I am new to all this! Lol!

i know I should be more self assured but hey we are all different! Look forward to hearing from anyone.

Protank II

Also make sure you buy about 10 replacement coils. I'd get the 1.5ohms coils.

Now for a slim powerful device to power that you would be better of getting a mod that can handle a 18350 battery, slimmest I have seen is 21mm but it makes it so much worth it for power. Just carry an extra few batteries with you and your good to go.

It might be thicker than you wanted but it carries a punch.. especially on the 1.5 coils and the Protank II is very slim. So your top bit will be the same but the bottom part that will be concealed in your hand will 21mm/22mm thick.

The good thing about this way is if later on you decide that you don't give a rats ... what people think and want to get a bigger atomizer then you'll have a mod that can handle it.

Hope this helps and you should find other vapors and walk and vape with them. Don't let your self get all bothered with whats normal and whats odd.. thats the huge problem with almost everything in society. Change freaks people out yet they beg for it. But yes your correct, we are all different and handle things accordingly to our own judgement.

Hi Mollycat11

so here could be something that vapes great looks nicely and is easy to setup and is available in the UK ;)

http://w w w.totallywicked-eliquid.c o.u k/products/variable-voltage-electronic-cigarettes/variable-voltage-kits/view-all/e-lectron-m-kit-and-e-liquid-product.html

if you want to look at your local vaping shop it's usually called Joyetech eCom (the device)
I used it myself and was quite fond of it ...
The sweetspot (best flavour) was when you turned it to 3,8-3,9volts
The coils are easy to replace and it has a good battery life with the 1000mah batteries and can be nice looking with the smaller ones (business style ;) )

or if you want to check them out here

and please remove the blanks in my links...since I am not allowed to post complete links

Happy vaping

Welcome to vaping!! You are an addict. Its ok I am too. But so is the guy who goes to starbucks every morning or drinks soda with caffeine all day. Their addiction is just viewed as more socially excepted. When Im in public, outside where its ok to vape, I frequently have a smoker stop and ask me a couple questions. When I go out to eat I set my device on the table with my phone and keys and often times my server is a smoker and a convo starts. I think 'maybe I just helped save that persons life'. So if you decide to venture into the world with your vape remember you could help someone :) I also live in the south of the USA where casual conversation with a stranger is not uncommon. BTW there are numerous studies that show that nicotine has benefits to people with various mental quirks ranging from schizophrenia to ADD. Its self medicating and IMO its ok too. Back to your questions on devices: Something that looks like a pen and has power and long batter life, well sadly technology hasn't caught up to us there yet :/ My suggestion would be the innokin V3. You can crank the power settings up, its kinda pen sized though its square vs round. The battery life is only 800 mah, which if you vape discretely may be enough for you. It also has a pass through concept. You can vape while it charges. Best of luck in your journey!

Hi everyone- basically im a novice looking for a bit of advice- i have been off tobacco for over 3 weeks and have been using an 1300mah ego with smok redux coils and an itaste mvp with iclear30 coils. i used to smoke about 30 cigs a day previously and found 24mg not strong enough so i changed to camel 36mg which i find ok but fairly strong. i have a few questions that people might be able to answer...
1- how often do i need to change iclear30 heads(not sure how much liquid i use)
2-how often to replace smok redux heads?
3-which clearomiser is best for an ego-i was thinking of trying evod.
4-on my itaste mvp, what is the correct set up to get a good hard draw and get a t least 2 days out of it before charging.
5- what is the correct way to drag on e cigs- is it a long 4 second drag, then hold it in mouth and exhale?
6- i have been using 36 mg- is that too strong, and can i mix it with 24mg?
8- this is prob a difficult question to answer, but could someone give an idea of what they would use in a month smoking(if they had to go live on an island-with electricty- )e.g how many coils etc.
i probably have left something out, but i really dotn want to go back smoking tobacco, and i know that if i have to many days where i cant get a hit of my e cigs ill think about going back to the real thing. Thanks:)

Hi Mollycat11.

I'm fairly sure Nicotine is therapeutic for me, so I know where you are coming from.

If you want to upgrade, there's load of choice. I would seriously recommend you to look at these 2 websites.

Vape Escape

Myepack.co.uk

Hi Molly and welcome.

There are huge rates of smoking among people with mental health problems. There are many smokers with depression/anxiety type problems, some of whom are now switching to vaping for a healthier alternative. You're certainly not on your own with that here!

I personally really like EVOD tanks, and I think they look more pen-like so you might like them too. I got mine from myepack at very good prices.

The coils are easy to change, they just unscrew from the base. You can put a new one in, give it a few minutes to soak up the liquid, and it's ready to use. Probably best to try out the EVOD tank and see how you like it before paying for spare coils, but the best deal I've found on EVOD coils is this company here, you can get 50 for £45.99: ShoptoStop.co.uk e cigarettes & e liquids

EVOD tanks fit on an ego battery, which may be what you already have in your starter kit. Alternatively you can get an EVOD starter kit from myepack which has 2 batteries and tanks, or single ones from stoptoshop. The 650mAh will be about pen-sized.
Alternatively, you can get some really small 350mAh ego batteries on special offer here: C9V Mini eGo 350mAh Battery - Cloud 9 Vaping
One thing to bear in mind with these is that your charger may be too powerful for them. You will need a lower-powered charger like this one: 510 USB Battery Charger - Cloud 9 Vaping
Another issue with smaller batteries is that they don't last as long, so you may want 4-5 to last a whole day. But fewer may do you if you're happy to continue using the larger one at home.

My EVOD tank on a 350mAh battery is just over 4 inches long, but on a 650mAh battery it's still only 5 inches, about the size of a pen.

So that you can have a reference, here is a photo of my EVOD Twist variable voltage battery and a ProTank2 Mini tank (ignore the little rubber band on top of the tank, that tells me what juice is in it) next to a pen.

Hope that helps!
And welcome to both of you!

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for all your amazing replies. I got the Mini Protank on an Ego battery. There were a few teething problems but that was because of initial setup by the bloke in the shop who never let the tank initially stand for about 10 mins before first use and so I kept having really awful dry hits that burned like hell and burnt out my first coil in a day! The wick hadn't been allowed to saturate juice before the first hit so that coil went and the second one was fine when setup according to YouTube (God bless YouTube!). I have put Tapatalk onto my phone now so I can chat away to you all more often. However, my advice to anyone with a new mini protank or bottom coil device is to fill it up first time and walk away for half an hour and make sure it is primed without rushing the process or else it will be horrid. Setup properly the mini protank is so smooth it is ridiculous and it is just flavor flavor flavor, no more sore throats from harsh starter pack clearomiser! Yeah!
