Hi I'm Richard
from Florida, I have been a smoker of marlboro reds for 15 years. A pack a day habit.
I have all sorts of health concerns and I am new the the vaping e-cig thing.
I've tried Blu-cigs rechargables, and a few other disposable brands.
I'm interested in two things mainly. Throat Kick, and Flavor.
E cigs, have either very litttle (non-existent) flavor, other than Blu-cigs
or they never taste nothing like real tobacco flavor. I was wondering if there was
a good alternative, like perhaps a real tobacco flavor or maybe just a menthol.

2. I notice if I cup my fingers over the air ports on e-cigs i get a harsher
hit with more throat kick I like that, is there any brands that do this automatically
without having to cup my fingers over the airports?

3. Nicotene levels, I usually get a nicotene satisfaction from smoking a real cigs
that I dont seem to get when smoking an e-cig, can someone give me some information
on why it doesn't feel the same? Does it take getting used to?

4. And Finnally I would like a sherlock holmes pipe rig, but have looked all over the internet
and can't find one. Any budding engineers or geniuses out there can I make my own?

Thanks for reading my post guys I'm looking to eventually make the switch It feels like hard
as quitting though.. Hope to chat and meet you guys soon

Richard

First of all, disposables and Blu's suck compared to whats available. Second, there is NO e liquid out there that is going to taste like a cig because the flavor you get from a cig is the combustion that takes place. Don't let that discourage you though because once you quit smoking your taste buds will start healing up and you wont desire that flavor anymore. Throat hit and flavor is something that has many contributing factors, such as PG/VG ratio, nicotine strength, atomizer, and ohms/voltage. I was able to quit using a simple eGo twist set up. It was fairly cheap and it did the job. After lurking on this forum and learning a lot more about e cigs I began upgrading, and with every upgrade I got better results. If you have the money I would suggest investing in a Provari from Provape. Its totally worth the money. Plus if you start out with a simple kit and upgrade even once, you will have been able to afford the Provari, so it kinda saves you money in that regard. As far as e-pipes go I have no idea, sorry.

Welcome, and good luck on your vaping journey!

Welcome Richard!!
There might be some pipe shaped devices around. I've never been interested so I've never looked.
You'll probably get more satisfaction out of something with more power than the Blu. And getting the right nicotine level would make it better too. It's a lot easier if you have the right equipment, find some juice that you like at the right nic level. I didn't think I could quit but I did and I've been lowering my nicotine level too. Just keep researching and asking questions and you'll figure it out. Good luck!!

Hey Richard, welcome to the ECF neighborhood,

If there are any good B&M stores close, that may be a good starting point for finding a flavor close to a tobacco.
The cig-a-likes really do not do the liquids justice, IMHO.

A small piece of scotch tape over one of the air holes may cut the "airy" vape.
A higher PG % will also increase the throat kick.

The higher nic levels may help with the nic satisfaction, but your nic intake is going to be lower while vaping, as compared to smoking,
Start with the higher nic, and PG level and adjust for your satisfaction.

You may be able to find something close here:
Hand-Crafted ePipes, custom made personal vaping devices from ePipeMods.com ...more than just an eCig
They have an outstanding selection of e-pipes.

Hey, fellow Richard. I'm a bit ahead of you since I jumped the analog ship a few days ago, but so far my experience has been pretty positive. I tried gas-station disposables and they didn't do anything for me (tasted terrible, and I'm in Canada, so no nicotine in those), but this week I bought some gear and some juice and haven't had a real cigarette since Wednesday. Doing fine so far, actually enjoying it. For what it's worth, this is the longest I've gone without a pack of smokes on my person in some eight or ten years.

I can't remember where (I feel like I have been to absolutely every single site that sells and/or talks about vape gear), but I'm sure I've seen pipe setups. Keep looking, they're out there. But my advice would probably be to read up and see what products people really like, there are people who've been at this a while, and plenty of YouTube videos covering pretty much every piece of gear out there. Pipe setups are going to be a novelty, whereas there are some really good bits of kit that have been through several redesigns and are pretty refined, and personally I would go for something tried and true.

You're not going to find anything that matches your analogs, flavour-wise, but I think if you figure out the right amount of nicotine and the right flavour, you can press some of the same buttons in your brain. Since I smoked Camel blues, I tried a 'desert ship' flavour and of course it tastes nothing like the Camels did, on the surface, underneath I'm finding a lot of the same notes, and the throat hit of the nicotine is just right so far. I went with 11mg juice, but I was smoking lights, so I'm thinking maybe try 18mg if you were smoking Marl Reds?

Do you have a brick-and-mortar specialty shop in your area? That was pretty invaluable to me, being able to actually hold some of the gear in my hands, smell and taste some of the flavours, and talk things out with a real person.
