Hi ya, new member here from SOCal switching to Joyetech EGO with questions

Found this cool forum while browsing Google for "Versus" e cig brands. I own a BLU e cig which broke on me a year ago and I never took the time to find a new one due to the over whelming information online. I went back to smoking real cigarettes. some things i remember about the blu in my personal experience was the price of the carts, little vapor achieved from E cig. I have been doing a lot of research and I think going to the joyetech eGo-C would satisfy my nicotine cravs and maybe wean me off real cigarettes. All i need to know is which E liquid to buy? i am guessing here johnsoncreek is the way to go? I smoke 1 pack of marlboro reds each day and fruity flavors are not something i am into ( ill admit the coffee flavor is nice in the morning). Welcome 2ndChoice, The Joyetech ego-c is a very good device, if i could make a suggestion move up to one of their twists, or a similar type device, while it might be a bit of overkill today next week you will like being able to adjust the voltage. Different e-liquids or juices taste differently at different settings or voltages. Since you are in Socal there are lots of vape shops around I would steer you to one before you make any purchase. Juice is very subjective and what I would recommend today I couldn't have stood when I started vaping, shops normally will let you try several juices to help you find what you like. Oh and don't buy big bottles whats good today will not be what you like next week or next month. Since I don't live in your area I'm unable to give any specific recommendations as to a good shop, but there are people here from your area that i'm sure will chime in to point you in a good direction.

I highly recommend that new people visit their local shop with a tasting bar to get e-juice. That way you will for sure get something you like. It will also be good to have someone to help with any problems.

Thanks for the replies. Thing is I'm not a vapor hobbiest. I am just wanting to slow down on the $$ spent per day on smokes and move to e cigarette for a less health hazard. Hope that makes a bit of sense ?

Second the VV option. Don't worry about the ohms vs voltage etc for now, but you will soon want to be able to adjust it based on your preference.

As for juice, along with excellent recommendation of visiting local shops for tasting, I would also recommend that you rethink your flavor preference. I started on Blu many years ago and didn't understand why people would vape anything other than tobacco flavor. Once you are willing to open up to different flavors, you will be glad you took that chance. Also, having lots of flavor options really helped me quit the analog for good. I always tell people that the juice flavor is the key to overcoming the initial hump of quitting cig. If you are just starting out, planning on visiting the local shop at least a dozen times to try out different flavors. Go to as many different shop as possible.
Johnson creek flavor is ok, but there are far more better tasting juice out there and cheaper too. Johnson creek only got popular since Blu uses them.

Most common reasons for quitting analog. Health and money.
You can keep the vaping to as simple as a few eGo batteries and few small tanks. Get some juice and atomizer refill, you are good. Common reason for failing to quit analog is limiting the juice flavor initially. If you vape something you don't like, you will go back to analog. So, give vaping a fair chance and taste some good juice.

Welcome from another from SoCal!!

Most of us aren't "hobby" vapors, we have quit smoking this way. Something like an eGo twist is good to start with, along with something like the Kanger mini Protank.

Not sure where you are in SoCal, there's tons of shops in the South Bay area that have juice bars. I agree with the others that it's a good way to try juice. It's a little more expensive but it's better than ordering online and getting nothing you like.

I was a very heavy smoker. I can tell you that my biggest problem was finding the "right" flavor. I chased many suggestions from here and other places, but soon found that taste is very subjective. I ordered dozens of samples from several venders and was frustrated again and again. In addition, as my sense of taste and smell were repaired, what I liked also changed. If you can possibly find a local shop and sample liquids (even if they are more expensive), you will save money, time, and frustration. IMHO

Does the "official" eGo-C use those terrible atomizers?

Most people will know the ones.... I personally hate them with a passion.

Joyetech batteries are good though.

I started with a 70pg/30vg mix. I think that is the most common mixture. You really should forget doing this online. Buying online can be cheaper but there are many risks. Especially for a rookie. Some of the hardware is a cheap copy of the real thing and finding acceptable juice is real krap shoot.

If you get flaky hardware , you will have no help. Go to a local shop and tell them you want to use an e-cig to quit smoking. Ask what they suggest. You may pay a little more but what you get will be worth it. You can get juice that you actually like on the first try and if you have any difficulty, you can go back to the shop for assistance.

I smoked for 40yrs. and haven't had a single cig. since I went to the local shop. I have saved about $100 in little over a month.

Talked to a buddy and he recommends I check out our local ecig shop and to buy a 1300mAh variable battery and kanger protank 2 from them. $50 out the door so I'm going that route cause i want to vape NOW.

So far I'm happy with the setup except I have been getting lots of juice in my mouth which Burns.....what can I do to stop this ?

UPDATE I guess one of the coils was bad, real bad. Wasn't getting much vapor and lots of liquid going inside the throat tube and into mouth tongue etc.
