I recently purchased two starter kits from Lucky Slicks for my husband and I. Does anyone know the type of battery they offer? Customer Service was awesome, until I emailed them asking what the specs are on their battery, and the type of battery it is. Absolutely NO response (that was 2 1/2 weeks ago!)

I want to try Cartomizers, and/or a different battery, but realize now that these are not very interchangeable, and some are very proprietary so you are limited to whatever they choose to sell. I need to figure out if I need to buy two whole new kits, or if the charging units will work with any other battery types.

Thanks!

I hate to tell you this, but that kit looks like the first kit I ever bought - it's identical to the Vapcig VC-17 model and is also the type that is being sold at 7-11s these days. I don't know what to tell you on these, this type of equipment will deliver a mediocre experience at best - and - could raise enough interest in your husband to find a better alternative.

If you just got these things, if they have a 30-day money-back warranty, I'd return them and come back for better suggestions from some of the folks here on ECF.

Just verified, they do have a 30-day MB guarantee - and, wow, $79 per starter? I got an identical kit at a local Tab shop for $39...

Thanks Papabloog, that helps point me in the right direction. In trying to improve upon the X-Hale02's i just spent more on the same type of thing. Figures. Although I think the batteries last noticeably longer (but then, the Lucky Slicks battery is quite a bit longer than the 7-11 model). I'd go with the LiteCig Kr808d-1 starter kit recommendation to start with, but they only seem to have the manual batteries in the kit, and only sell the XL's in auto. All the rest are manuals, which I'd prefer not to be pushing a button to "smoke". Plus they only have silver in the kit, as they are probably waiting for a shipment that's being detained or something. And, sad to say but it's been more than 30 days since we got them, so sending them back is not in the cards. That's ok though. They work more reliably than the X-Hale02's did, so I'll keep working with them for now, in between analogs. And I'll keep scouring the WWW until I find a starter kit with auto batteries, that does not cost $80.

You can get a Joye 510 Auto Battery kit for much less than $80. Checkout cignot.com, They have 510 starter kits that come with a PCC for $65. You can choose white, and you can choose auto batteries, if those are a must for you. You can get the same kit there without the PCC for $35 there as well.

You may come to the same conclusion a lot of people including myself do. Looking and feeling like a cigarette becomes un-important quickly. What becomes more important it battery life, and of course performance. I got a mini-mart type ecig first, then bought a Riva 510 (I bounced back & forth between Standard 510 and Riva). Int the end, I said to hell with looking like a cig, I want taste, vapor, and battery life. Also I found direct dripping to be enjoyable, so I went with manual batteries.

You really can't go wrong with 510, KR808, Riva, eGo, all are good models and cheaper than $80

If you're looking for lowest cost auto, best value is MyVaporStore - the KR808D-1 kits there are the best price. LiteCigUSA does sell autos - but only in their kits. They don't seem to sell autos standalone.

Plus they only have silver in the kit, as they are probably waiting for a shipment that's being detained or something.

If your looking for color options, you might need to look somewhere else - like Vapor4Life or Bloog --

Papabloog, you say that LiteCigUSA does sell autos in their starter kits? I don't see any. I emailed the contact on the website, and asked and Jacqueline told me that they batteries in the kit are manuals. Really nice lady, I will probably do business with them later on. And the only color I'm looking for right now is black.

I just went to the MyVaporStore, and they are out of stock for the kits, but will have them back in stock hopefully by 1/21/11. Thankfully THEY note on their product page that they are out of stock. others just leave you guessing...so I'll be patient a while longer and see if they get their delivery.

Agreed

New to E-cigs and ended up with the riva from liberty flights for 35 bucks. It hits like a Marlboro red in my opinion though it is not auto. I can't see wanting to upgrade for any reason. I carry my e-liquid and drip a couple drops when its time for a nic fix, but the carts seem to work very nice with the kit. They are definitely more bulky than what you ordered but I justified that by really wanting to be away from analogs, rather than just cutting down on them. I'm sure you will end up with the right fit for you and your hubby soon.

I am very well read on the trials and tribs of automatic batteries, but i've also seen quite a bit of wisdom in here on preserving the auto. I think with cartomizers that don't leak (they do make them) and a lot of care when refilling the cartomizer I can make it work. I fully realize that I WILL be dripping eventually. But due to family issues at this time, I don't have a lot of extra time for refilling the current cartridges I have. And that brings me back to one of my original questions, does anyone know what type of battery the Lucky Slicks site sells in their starter kits? Papabloog was kind enough to be online at 3AM today, and said he sent a questionaire to the company and we'll see if they answer. But he thought they were similar to the X-Hale02 from 7-11. And neither site states the battery mAh, diameter, etc. If I can use the Lucky Slicks charger with a kr808d-1 battery, then I have a purchase plan for that. If not, I have purchase plan B. Either way, I'm getting the kr808d-1 for the battery life, experience similar to smoking (which I really love) and flexibility to grow later on without having to buy completely new gear each time I upgrade. The plan here is to save money, not find a new way to spend it...

Thanks so much for all the help so far, I knew this would be the place for that and I have not been disappointed.

Drats! My bad. Hmmm - if all else fails, try Vapor4Life - they have reasonable KR8 Kits. If you do, remind me to forward a copy of the letter from V4L customer service I recieved regarding what to do if the carto doesn't seat properly. Again, good luck!

Oh, and btw, no mail from LuckySlicks Cust Svc. yet - hmmm, ya think they'll respond?

Papabloog, I just ordered some cartomizers from V4L, so it looks like I'll need to take you up on that letter about the cartos and kr8s. Thanks again for your help.
