Welcome aboard scottish. Read as many posts as you can and watch the videos to help you decide which PV to get and what supplies you will need to last you at least what a carton of analogs would last you. I would advice weening yourself off analogs rather than cutting them out entirely. (it seemed to help me get off the analogs).

well I picked a cheap one from amazon....
Electronic Cigarette Pro Starter Kit With Two Electronic Cigarettes, Mains USB Charger. Car USB Charger, USB Lead & 10 Free Tobacco Flavoured Refill Cartridges: Amazon.co.uk: Health & Beauty
thought I would start off with a cheap one than buying dearer model and say breaking it by mistake..
have tryed many times to quit smoking but this seems like the best Idea and all the different flavors to try as well seems awesome.

cheers for the reply eclipsed1770

Hello & welcome Scottish :)

Yes that is a cheap one & will you you an idea about e-cigs. However, battery life will be very short & they will need recharging every couple of hours or so. The 10 prefilled carts won't last you very long so you will need to buy yourself some e-liquid to refill them with pretty pronto :)

Welcome!

I recommend you get 5 total posts or replies in New Members then after about an hour you will be able to post in the UK forum too. They'll have a better idea of what good ecigs are easiest to get parts for in the UK.

In the US the most popular models are Joye 510 models including the fat battery Ego and similar, and KR808D-1 models for a 2-piece

Welcome to the jungle Scottish :0), let the journey begin!!!

I do have to tell you I still smoke the occasional analog. Well ok the occasional PART of an analog (they get to tasteing like garbage or as someone here said a urinal cake(?)) just out of pure habit.

I didn't start vaping to quit analogs, I started it cause it sounded good, the drop in my smoking analogs was pure accident. I STILL have the carton of analogs in my freezer /shrug. Look at em almost every day as a good reminder.

Again, welcome to ECF and enjoy yourself!

Thanks for the reply people....
Zeldakitty you can steal Demon cigs if you want. Been calling my cigs that for the last year or so haha....
had a look at the vids on youtube and been reading the reviews of e-cigs and I cant really find a down side to them...
My g/friend is with me 100% to start this as she gets annoyed with me having to go outside to smoke every hour..
also have a 2 year old son with asthma too
cant wait to try this out and will keep yous post when I do..

just another question to ask...am I better buying a expensive model or sticking to the cheaper on to start with.
Seen alot of talk about the riva 510

Hi scott, welcome.

It is sort of an up-front investment. If you go for Riva (Liberty Flights) or Tornado (Totally Wicked), it is practically the same thing (as well as eGo). The are all 510-threaded, which will give you future possibilities for trying out other delivery methods. What comes with the unit (atomizers + carts) is ok for a start, imo. I have not heard of many (any?)regretting to start right off with this type of equipment (w/ Manual batteries). You can't go wrong.

Juice is also important, and subjective. I started with TW M/boro 18mg - although on the expensive side - it is a tobaccoish and some sweet and pleasant. 18mg==1,5 pack/day. Other TW (Decadent Vapor) are also good (and expensive)

You can stock some 24mg juice for "emergencies". LF also stock some good juices, I don't have personal experience. Many like RY4 (sweet) and 555 (a little nutty). YMMW. I'm not sure how customs will treat any international shipments - I mostly use uk sites due to our customs... Inside eu there are no customs problems.

Good luck with whatever you decide, and do keep asking questions.

Scottish the Riva 510 is a great e-cig to go for. Not that expensive for a full starter kit - just over £30.00 so about the same as 5 packets of real cigs.

A couple of really good UK suppliers selling a Riva kit are

Paradise Vapes - James is based in Scotland & IMHO his e-liquid is second to none : -
riva type 510: Electronic Cigarette - pvego - Paradise Vape UK _ Vape dont smoke

Freedom Vapes : -
Riva 510 E-Cigarette Starter Kit - Detailed item view - FreedomVape (UK)

And of course, not forgetting Liberty Flights (discount code ECR69 will get you 15% OF)
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510
Do bear in mind though that LF's Riva kits come with dry (blank) cartridges & will need filling with e-liquid before you can use them.

think I will just get the riva 510 to start with then since its highly talked about.
dont really know what e liquids to get but will just shop about. plus everyones taste is different so with just have to try a few and see whats my taste.....
any site you could give me to buy the riva 510 from red mist..
My fathers also interested in this as he spends £105 per week on cigars

cheers for that chrissy was typing this as you posted:laugh:

Scottish, in many ways the Riva is cigarish - well at least in shape & size :) You can also get cigar flavoured e-liquid. But do bear in mind that no tobacco flavoured e-liquid will taste exactly the same as a real cig. But once you get used to the taste you will find it tastes far better :) My favourite tobacco flavour is Paradise Vapes LnB.

Hi Scottish-and-Proud! I'm Irishandproud lol. I've been vaping for a few months now and have to say it was very confusing at the beginning but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I'm now the proud owner of the SDII and slurp RY4 all day! Lol.

I'd go for a 50/50 base to begin with - that gives a good balance of throat hit & vapour (PG gives most throat hit - VG produces most vapour). And yes a medium to high strength should suite you. If you find the one you buy is too high, you can always cut it with glycerine, but that will of course also cut the flavour. You can buy small bottle of glycerine from most supermarket (baking section) or larger 100ml bottles from a chemist for about £1.20.
