I bought the stuff to get started from nic River. I already had a decent scale, so I’ll be doing it by weight. I’m probably going to go the easier route as well. I prefer fruit type flavors, so i hope it shouldn’t be too complicated.I don’t own a billet box. Some people really like them. I was put off by the price myself. Not even sure if they’re mechs, protected mechs, or VV
Various personal opinions on DIY:
As to the DIY thing thankfully it’s not complicated. Or at least doesn’t have to be that way. One trades flavor quality for amount of trouble put into the process. As with anything eventually there are diminishing returns. The complications usually comes in with flavor recipes and the deep and vague mysteries of steeping. There are advantages in flavors and steeping to be found. Exactitude of measurement is another thing I cut corners on. Exactitude is more important when one starts out and can continue to be important for recipes.
Myself I go for the knuckle dragging simplicity approach personally and do none or little of any of them. It simplifies things immensely though I freely admit the juice I make isn’t as good as it can possibly be. It works though. I use tubular shapes juice bottles so the volume can be measured by eye, more or less after some experience. I do single flavoring or dual flavoring recipes and I choose them for flavor by how well they taste shake n’ vape. I don’t steep. Steeping might help or hurt them and some flavors are not good unless steeping is done. It makes things somewhat limiting but I can deal. This generally points me towards fruits and baked goods flavors.
To start You’ll need some sort of reasonably accurate measuring device (this varies by preference) and the materials. Steeping can be done without tools. Materials vary somewhat, but you’ll need a high quality nic containing base, a non nic containing base, and flavorings. A lot of people here don’t even use flavorings at all. I find I prefer it but can live without.
Thanks for the tips!
