Hi there :),

I finally joined this great forum. I vape since 18 month now and got a lot of information here.
I discovered vaping when a friend of mine had an operation on her vocal chords and should stop smoking. So I searched to find something to help her quit smoking.
I didn't had the intention to quit smoking and ordered a pretty bad china e-cig which lasted a few days and tried a 801.
The result was: I'm vaping since then and she still smokes.
I smoked my last package cigarettes and it was the first time in my 30 year smoking career I could stop. It didn't felt like I would ever smoke again. Once in a while I tried a cigarette and disliked the taste and felt dizzy after it. But... after a visit from my strong smoking stepfather I'm back to 3 - 6 cigarettes...
Maybe I need a new mod?
Maybe it's an experience all vapers have?

Steph.

Welcome to ECF Steph, sounds like you were doing really well and won't have too much trouble getting back on track. I found the Joye eGo helped me the most. Liberty-flights have the eGo for 39.99 and the Riva 510 (which is an eGo clone) for 29.99 when you click on the 20% off button on the left hand corner. They are both excellent sets and since you are used to cartomizers I would suggest ordering some blank Boge 510 Cartomizers to go with it and make sure you have strong enough juice to handle your cravings. Their shipping is only 2.99 and have fast delivery. Good luck and happy vaping!!

The best thing about using e-cigs is visiting ECF! That will probably be your biggest help. If your 801 is still working, keep using it. Everybody has their own different style and way of quitting, and some just reduce the amount that they smoke. Either way, it is a good thing. Before you spend money, spend time and visit here more. After you have posted 5 posts, you can make posts in the Europe Forum too. Keep it up!

Hi jj2, Lisa B and FreakyStylie,
Thanks for your advice. The problem is I'm already on an Ego, use a Screwdriver from time to time and my 801. It's really a struggle with cigarettes now and I wonder why, because I could quit fast at first. I hate how it stinks and remember me being proud and enjoying it without any smoke and ashtray smell. It's a mess. I don't feel good about it, even old habits come back, like a coffee needs a cigarette. I even cough more.
The Europe forum here is not so much used, but I might give it a go someday and say hi.
Did you all quit smoking?

Hey Steph., I suggested the Euro forum because it might be a good way to help find other local members, but mainly suggest just visiting and asking questions in general.

I haven't had a cigarette in over 2 months. I still get some weird feelings. There are other alkaloids in cigarettes besides nicotine, so I'm sure I will have urges for them from time to time . . . not to mention what the other thousands of chemicals did to me. It has become easier for me because I am nearing 200 different flavors, and am doing this more like a hobby than a habit. I am expecting the newness to wear off of all this, then that will be a tougher time for "old habits" to start knocking.

I have changed a lot of my routines too . . . smoking used to control a vast majority of my life. Take coffee for instance, I take it black now, but used to doctor it up with flavor and cream, so it has evolved with me. I haven't really been doing this for long enough to offer any stable advice, but take it for what it's worth. Really, I think the best part is just being around others who know what you are going through.

I smoked and vaped for months but once I found the right juice and pv was able to quit in a couple of days almost by accident. It's been a little over 4 months for me now and don't have cravings anymore but I chain vape. Sounds like you have great equipment, I hope you find what helps you out of the slump but don't give up and don't be too hard on yourself, we are all addicts and slipping may be part of it, just hang in there til you find what helps you get back on track.

Hi Steph,

You have a lot more experience with vaping than I do, but have you tried vaping a higher nicotine juice? I've only been vaping for 13 days, and I still have cravings. When I do, I bump up to 24mg for about 15 mins and then go back to chain vaping my 8mg for the rest of the day.

I have only been analog free for 3 days. What changed was when I received some cinnamon juice at 24mg. It's killed my cravings quite a bit.

Thanks for your help :)
200 flavors, wow, sounds like great fun. I guess I need some recipes.
I started with 24mg and after I thought I'm over it I cut it down to 12mg. I will go back where I started, that's a great idea. I simply was to frustrated to think this way around.
Thanks a lot.

What made me quit the first time was 24mg and I found delicious menthol and vanilla juice.
The most important thing to quit is a similar flavor to what you used to smoke, the mg of nicotin and a throat hit, IMHO.

ChloeEranu, I never smoked anything that tasted like cinnamon. What was the brand you smoked?
I bet here are a lot of people experienced with any taste similar to brands. This could help you.

Steph.

I used to smoke Marlboro Smooths. I looked on the forums for suggestions, but the answers generally said, "there is no duplicate" so I settled for mints and menthol e juices. They were okay, but it just didn't do it for me when it came to super cravings. Cinnamon does! My only complaint is that it makes it difficult for me to taste my waffle if I vape too much cinnamon.

Vanilla mint sounds really good. I had thought about dropping some vanilla extract into a bottle of menthol but I'm a bit chicken. Where do you order from?

Hi Steph,

I too am new to vaping like Chloe. I have quit smoking cold turkey a few times in the 41 year smoking career I've had. I've also had accupuncture, hypnosis, nic gum and nic patches all to quit - in the past, the only thing that really worked for me was cold turkey. I don't know about you but I am tired of fighting to quit. When I started this vaping I never determined that I quit - I was just curious. And I did smoke about half of what I normally did the first week, a little less the next week, then maybe 2 or 3 a day for a while and then maybe 1 cig per day or not. I am tired of stressing out over this! When I have had a cig (the last was a few days ago) I feel/taste yuck! Maybe I smoke the whole thing or maybe I just put it out. Yet I am confident now that I will stop smoking entirely because I really enjoy vaping and really don't like the taste of cigs! Some of what I'm doing may be helpful to you - use new eyes like someone who is new here. I'm very interested in this forum - though I don't dwell on smoking really at all. I'm into mods, TH, vapor, volts, attys and really into juices! Have some fun! Try some juices - try a mod, maybe a VV for more TH and a new angle on your juices taste. Give yourself a break - keep vaping and you will quickly or slowly stop smoking. If you too come to enjoy it better than smoking who is going to stop you!

Good luck and happy hunting!

Alisa (by the way, I started to stop this last Thanksgiving)

It feels good to be here on ECF.

CloeEranu, I order from Liberty Flights, Heaven gifts and some in Europe (which would be to expensiv for shipping overseas). Oh I forgot, Totally wicked. I would have to try a Marlboro Smooth to compare it.
I used to smoke Marlboro Menthol and Kool ( used to? I finally did today )
So if any of them matches, I could give you a tip what comes really close to it.

alisa, that's a journey you describe. I also tried it with accupuncture and smoked after the needles were out... It's a bad drug. I never did a cold turkey, that's the hard way.
Congrats, you are really on a good way.
You are right, I shouldn't feel bad and look forward. I also should realize that every cigarette I don't smoke is a thing to be proud of. Thanks for your advice, it helped.
I'm glad I joined here :)

So, I will go back to 24mg, have a look for a mod and more flavor varieties. And... read the forum.

Thanks,
Steph.

Hi Steph,
Welcome to ECF!
Don't worry about an occasional analog.
You're right! The cigarettes you avoid is what really matters. I have been vaping a relatively short time, but have cut my analog consumption by about a third. Still like the morning wake-up smoke and a few others throughout the day, but I guess we're all a work in progress. Keep reading and exploring new options.
Good luck in all your future vaping endeavors!
