Hi, toke, welcome to ECF!

You should get 5 posts in (say hi to other new members, or chat about what you're using, etc) and that will give you access to more of the forum.

Since you're in Canada, there is lots of confusion about what you can and can't get shipped there (mostly involving probabilities, IMHO). It seems there are lots of great vendors within Canada, but for stuff coming in from out of the country, there might be issues (or not).

There is a great Canadian forum here as well:
Canada Forum

So, what are you vaping (if you are) or what are you interested in?

Edit: I type slow these days.......

I am vaping Lazarus Vintage right now but found premium canadian e-liquid that are popping up now so I ordered liquid ejuice premium the flavour i got coming is the famous canada's wonderland theme park, the treat "funnel cake". im into sub-ohm. I like clouds and flavour and I like my nicotine level at 18 mg. So im not really into looking for those high wattage devices

my ipv2 on a orchid clone was not firing properly. the coils would go a wacky. the guy at the store where I got the ipv2 and the orchid clone. kept on firing the button and the screen would keep saying one thing like 30 watts, then something else like 15 watts everytime he fired it. he told me that the ipv2 chip was fried. then he looks at the atty and he said the atty was fried. so im not sure on what hardware I have that is totally fried. the coils I build would just not cooperate and would not just fire evenly and glowing from the inside out. sometimes it would just disintegrate. I have a Prometheus clone and ive been trying to build with a 24 gauge A1 kanthal at 8 wraps. and the atty body would get really hot when i would try to get it fire evenly but its been 4 hours working on the thing and im having no luck with my Prometheus clone.

The topper is a generic term for the thing (orchid in your case) that sits on top of the MOD.

I have seen the "wacky" jumping around of the watts reading. It is probably that the screw in the 510 connection on the bottom of your orchid is not fully connecting inside the receiving hole on the IPV2. I would unscrew the screw a quarter turn and reconnect again. By your description of the person at the shop, he doesn't know that...

Give that a shot. If you have another topper, try that also to see if it works. Also, try your Orchid on the DNA40 to see if it is connecting on it.

For some reason your IPV2/DNA40 are not continuously detecting your Orchid. That suggest the pin. If you don't have another 510 RDA/RTA, I would get one so as to test.

Those MODs are not cheap...be careful.

I am getting too tired. I will check in the morning. Hopefully, someone else will come by. Some people just look at the title to a thread and "Hi" doesn't indicate a problem. Hopefully...
