Do you still plan on using the Protank? If you want a different one, we need to know, in order to recommend the right battery.

I'd like a better tank although the Protank 2 has been good. I might try something like a kanger subtank in the higher ohm like 1.2 (if I remember correctly) but need a good basic device for it.

I would like to get something like a box mod. Something where I can change the batteries. Nothing complicated though. Any ideas?

Look below at my signature... It's what i use and I like it......... The Kanger mini starter kit is nice..... So is the Kanger Kbox.

Another option would be the Kanger Mini Subox Starter Kit.

    It comes with:

    1. the mod (Mini KBox - 50 watt),
    2. a tank (Mini Subtank),
    3. 2 OCC coil heads (1.5Ω & 0.5Ω)
    4. a charging cable.

You would need to purchase a battery (the Samsung 25R's are great). Double check in case there are different "Kits" out there. I wouldn't purchase the batteries at the same place unless you can get them for $5-$6 each).

It also includes a RBA base should you ever wish to try rebuilding your own coils. It's pretty easy and can save you money long-term. The RBA base includes 2 "prebuilt" coils and Japanese cotton so you can wick the coils.

I run a kanger Subtank nano on an I stick 30W. So far I have only used the 1.3 ohm coils. Between the variable voltage and variable airflow I feel that I can get any vapor production, throat hit, and temp that I want. I strongly recommend it and it's really not any taller than a basic pen style tank+battery. The i stick 30w basically fills the palm of my hand, no larger.

I've attached a pic of the Subtank nano, nautilus mini, and Evod for comparison. This comparison is what convinced me the capabilities of the Subtank nano more than accounted for marginal size difference when compared to the evod/nautilus mini. Currently looking into starting dripping (mainly just for the interest in tinkering) but the I stick 30w+Subtank nano can handle anything from matching basic pen ecig vapor production/throat hit to sub ohming. The nano does not have rebuildable coils but a 5 pack is $20 at my B&M store, so not too bad. my experiences is limited to cigalikes, evod battery+evod clearomizers, and my current setup, so keep in mind my relatively limited exposure. Hope that helps

Also, the kanger Subtank at 1.3 (the two options from kanger are 1.3 and sub-ohm coils) are recommended for a wattage of 13 to (I believe) 25. I run them at 10-13. I don't see any reason an I stick 20w couldn't handle it if you wanted to run a Subtank at 1.3 ohms prior to landing on a new mod.
