This was hidden in a NYT article about vaccines...more specifically about the recent measles outbreak. Not sure why e-cigs have any relevance, but there ya go.

Why? Many of them buy into a discredited theory that there’s a link between the MMR (mumps-measles-rubella) vaccine and autism. They’re encouraged by a cadre of brash alarmists who have gained attention by pushing that thinking. Anti-vaccine panic was the path that the actress Jenny McCarthy traveled to innumerable appearances on prominent news and talk shows; she later demonstrated her singular version of concern for good health by working as a pitchwoman for e-cigarettes.

Geez, talk about the pot calling the kettle black with nasty slap at vaping.

"buy into a discredited theory" - maybe like the author of the article bought into the propaganda about the dangers of e-cigs coming from "a cadre of brash alarmists"?? hmmm

Ok, Jenny is wrong about vaccines (IMHO), but does that automatically make her wrong about ecigs and merit the derisive comment 'singular version of concern for good health?" That said, I expected this type of mudslinging would come from some quarter when the campaign came out. She wouldn't have been my choice for spokesperson.
