Anybody know of some good high drain RCR123s? (Without sacrificing too many mAhs)

AW

mAh IMHO is an overrated tool in deciding which batteries to use. One looks for performance when switching to high drain vice longevity. AW's specs are the closest to "true mAh" out there. Many have inflated #s as a marketing scheme, because most folks relate battery performance to mAh rating. A good thing but very inaccurate way of determining performance.

In general:

The non-destructive maximum discharge rate of a battery is expressed in terms of C.

A 10C rated battery, which has a capacity of 2400mAh, would be able to supply a maximum discharge current (in Amps) of:
C * mAh / 1000
10 * 2400 / 1000
10 * 2.4
24 Amps

The 'C' rating of a battery or cell can be determined from the manufacturer's stated specification, or derived from the performance data in the spec sheet for that particular product. Since it is not uncommon for a manufacturer to overstate the 'C' rating for certain products, or product families; it is therefore advisable to check the advertised 'C' rating against published performance curves in the application data sheet for that specific device.

I think the tenergy chemistry: LiMnO2 (amirite?) has better drain and stability characteristics than a standard Li-ion. I use 2 Tenergy RCR123As for 6v and it can handle a lot of power. Pretty damn satisified with them. Maybe some other chemistries promote a higher ability to draw power but the LIMN chemistry is really safe and quite good. Works well.

Do you have a pic of these?
