+1 for Super-T. I absolutely love my ELA. Only problem is they're not making them right now. They have the Simplicity series available, but pairing it with the Kayfun might not work out so well for you as they are all 20mm, and the Kayfun is 22mm.

Another thing to consider though is button placement. Do you want a bottom, bottom side or top side button? Also do you want a full fixed tube length, a telescope, or a mod that comes with an 18350 tube with extensions? Do you want a built-in air flow controller (not needed with the Kayfun, but very nice with other atties)? These can greatly narrow down your choices.

Subjective is right. At some price point... mods become more than a device to hold a battery, they become works of art - and I believe that the majority are purchased based on price, exclusivity and... how cool they look to the interested party.

Just about any bottom button mod looks pretty good to me, and a few side buttons, like the roller and Poldiac. WindRose, Nzonic, PAPS and Nemesis are all high on my list of what I think is attractive... and I have a strange attraction to the Titanide Themis as well. ;-)

I'm a big Pinoy fan myself. I love the industrial look of most of them. The Titan by VHO has pretty much become my standard in mods.

I'm also a big fan of Yasu75, an Italian modder. He makes the Galileo and the Vinci (one of the more unique bottom feeders you're likely to see, but also crazy expensive).

Another thing to keep in mind might be the diameter of the mod. For example, while the Titan is awesome, I believe it's diameter is a bit slimmer than the Kayfun's, and it might look a bit awkward paired up. The most common diameter tends to be 22mm, so I'd say go for that.

the titanide is absolutely beautiful. just cant imagine it with a big old honkin geni hanging on it is probably the only reason stopping me.

right now i want the brass nemi but probably hit the lottery and get struck by lightning twice before then lol

I (and I'm guessing you as well) want them all. Ya' think that's a psychological condition? ;-)

Yeah... my wife would murder me if the bill for a Themis showed up on the ol' debit card. I'm stashing cash in a "double-secret handshake" PP account as we speak. I'll have one by December, one way or another.

You want a Nemi, I'm slowly developing a desire for a PAPS Ltd 2.5... where's that lightning?

naa, not all of them, just the good ones :D lol
Aww... too bad. I'm still lowbrow enough that I enjoy playing around with my little collection of Sigelei and EhPro bottom button clones. ;-)

Saying that... every time I get something nicer than what I have, I give something away to friend or family. Keeps the collection from getting... out of hand.

when i started over a year and a half ago, i looked at "those guys" and said thats nuts who needs to collect anything, its just to keep from smoking, then i got a provari and a couple nice rba's and said "self, promise me you wont become one of the goofy collectors".......umm.... yea... funny how that turned out.

I try not to get out of hand. like now I have a couple mods in the classies to make room for the stuff coming lol

but hey Im still not smoking, i feel better, and even though its an expensive month sometimes I still dont blow what i did on a monthly average of cigs. some months I buy almost nothing. but i would have still spent the same amount on cigs month after month.
(like how i reason this out with myself?) lol

Works for me... I'm on the same path, with similar rationalizations.

Just look at them and see what you like. Most of the high-end mods perform in the same ballpark. For the caravela-style ones, the big differences are in how they capture the battery and exactly what fiddling you have to do.

Some have "features" like airflow control (nemesis, chi you). But if you're using a Kayfun, that's irrelevant. Some can be turned into hybrid-like devices based on their thredding.

I think the right one to try first is the one that blows your hair back.

My personal favorite right now is the Nemesis. The battery adjustment is simple and straightforward. The lock ring is big and easy to use. I like the engravings. The fit & finish isn't perfect, but not much is (well...after you've held a Caravela). Anything resembling an issue I have with it is nit-picking. Unfortunatel, the secondary market for them is dead thanks to the :censored: counterfeits. If you decide you want to sell or trade it, you'll have a hard time convincing all but the most gullible that it's real. I could see buying a second, but it'd be in an F5 war...I'd never buy one from an individual again without some way of being sure it's real.

If I don't buy another Nemesis, I'm seriously considering a Ba Gua as my next. I've never had a 14500 mod before, and I think it'd look really nice with a Penlope...or even just a rebuilt protank mini. Chances are, really, something will catch my eye and I'll figure out a way to buy it...like my Turtle Ship. It's a good mod...not as technically good as the Nemesis, but it's finishing feels excellent and it works great.

I've had quite a few things and sold quite a few things, almost every high end mod performs the same as far as observed results while vaping. I'm sure you could put them on a meter and see some slight differences but it's not something you will notice, you may imagine it though.. Everybody says their newest mod hits hardest and that's probably a combo of it being clean and wanting it to do so.

I've learned it's mostly about the button for me. It may be something else for you. It also has to be worth the money to me. The paps x looks like a nice mod but there's nothing about it that screams $240 to me. On the other hand, I have a Ti Ba Gua which was worth every penny of it's $240 to me. To some it would be the opposite.

As was said above, find something that has a look you like and features you want. It's mostly about the little things that make you happy though a lot of that is learned through experience.

I have greek, and pinoy mods atm, trying to get into spanish mod right now. I might try to buy a italian when my paycheck allows it but that wouldn't be anytime soon. I mainly like my coils at .7 ohms to 1ohms. Which VV/VW doesn't really offer. I also really like bottom buttons so I tend to eliminate the side button switch.
