When I first started vaping, the PV had to look like a cigarette for my mind to accept it. White 901s with beige "filter" and orange LED at the end. They helped me see the possibilities, but they just weren't satisfying, I couldn't count on them to work, and I still wanted a real cig real bad.
So I kicked it up a notch and got a couple big battery mods - a Prodigy V1 at 5V, and a 6V Chuck, both paired with 801 high-voltage atomizers. These devices are still my mainstays. At first I used high strength juice (36 mg). Honestly, 5-6V of power and potent juice did the trick for me. Now I'm content with 18 mg, and could possibly go with less. And sometimes, 3.7V is all I really want, so I go for my Protege or BB. The important thing is to have powerful, reliable equipment (with plenty of backups) and a good supply of potent juice that tastes good to you.
Had a friend over yesterday who smokes. I did try setting her up with a PV to use while she was here. She tried it a few times, but we all know it takes a little while to get the technique down. She needed a cig and I understood. I smoked for almost 40 years and can't be a hypocrite so I let her burn 3 or 4 analogs while she was here. But I discovered I've turned into one of "those people". I hate the smell. Here it is, a day later, and I can still smell it in my house. Maybe by tomorrow the odor will be gone - I hope.
While she was here, I took a hit off her cig for old times sake. It was downright nasty. Not at all like the banana or cherry or chocolate that I'm now used to. Tobacco tastes like total $#!+.
That said, I'll admit I saved the 8 packs that were left in my carton and put them in the freezer just in case Armageddon strikes and we have no electricity to charge my batteries. They've been there since last April and I haven't given them a thought.
I do not enjoy cigarettes anymore. They stink. And now I am one of "them". Who'd a ever thunk it?
