i changed my juice to 50/50. i actually like this better than high pg juice. but it seems like with similar set up, tobh atty with penny mod running at 6 ohm, the puff count is less. the set up seems to dry up quicker. i'm using generic organic cotton ball from the walgreen. i do have KGD in order. does the high vg require better wicking material to wick quicker? or should i use less cotton?

My understanding is VG is a thicker medium for holding flavor/Nic so wicking needs to be a looser wicking method, if you want more clouds, also nicotine content effects the flavor.

Rayon or Japanese cotton should improve wicking significantly. I've been able to build lower and run higher since making the switch.
Regular cotton is great for soaking things up but seems reluctant to let liquid go again. The longer, straighter fibres in rayon & kgd have much better wicking action.

You can also consider thinning out your 100% VG juice by adding some distilled water.
Definitely get some japanese cotton or cellulocotton. That's what I use and I'm rocking 80% VG. Also, make sure that you leave the cotton ever so slightly loose in the coil. You should be able to slide the cotton side to side without moving the coil to account for expansion.
What coil diameter are you running? Open it up till flavor drops off then move one step back. Also, rayon!
I've never heard of a vendor doing that personally. IMO, while it's generally accepted as okay, I'll keep the water or alcohol out of my juice. A proper wick will work regardless of the juice viscosity.
I know I saw on one site they said they used AG ( diluted VG) in their mixes, but I can't remember the site and I didn't buy anything. I do mostly DIY and don't dilute though as good wicking is enough for 50/50 mixes.
played around a little. found that if i over saturate the cotton, and cut down on the air flow, i can vape with no issue. i think with all air flow open, it's drying out the cotton too fast. probably my wicking isn't good or the cotton is not sucking up the juice fast enough.
KGD resolved the wicking problem, and i found out why my throat is getting sore. i have acid reflux problem. but it has gotten better over the yrs and i rarely take nexium now days. but i guess something in the juice was acidic. after taking nexium, i'm find and able to vape without throat soreness.
