One year ago I quit smoking and started vaping. I've bought ejuice for all the local vendors and some online....... most of them have this one similar weird taste and I hate it. I don't really know how to explain the taste, but I think it is because they aren't buying quality ingredients. Currently I buy from two different local vendors (these vendors juice don't have the weird taste) and mix their juice together to make what I like. By the consistency, one vendor seems to use mainly PG or a blend of PG and low VG and the other vendor seems to use a higher VG, maybe a 50/50 or 70/30 blend. I am wanting to try to make my own.

So I guess my question is does the quality of the ingredients make a difference or is it all the same stuff?

I want the highest quality ingredients. I have done some research and found Nude Nicotine for base and Bull City for flavoring. Am I on the right track?

Please help......

I normally wait until they have a sale and pick up some for $39.99 and keep a good supply in the freezer in amber glass bottles. That way is the most economical as far as I am concerned. Good luck to you. Hope this helped.

Hello and welcome to the forum Evajo. Glad to have you here!:)

For all things DIY head on over to the DIY ELiquid Forum. You will not be able to post there until you get in your first 5 posts and the servers update at :25 past the hour. Make sure to read all the "stickies".

I don't just buy all my flavors from one flavoring company. I primarily use Flavor Arts but there are some flavors that TFA/Inawera/Hangsen/Capella and others do better (and better/best is subjective depending on what you like). The same goes for nicotine. Not all nicotine tastes the same.

Here are some threads you may like to read through for different flavoring companies. Many of the posts include recipes and comments about a specific flavor.

1. Flavor Arts (FA) - Pure Vapes has 3ml FlavourArt flavorings

Rat, thanx so much for the RTS link. I'd completely forgot them. I used to have them bookmarked but lost most of my bookmarks the last time this, my main box crashed and I had to re-instal everything. I get my DIY goods from Wizard or ecigexpress but remember wanting a bunch of stuff from RTS.
I get many of my pre-made juices from MFS and have never had any problems, but due to some reviews regarding their nicotine have hesitated.
Being a cheapskate, I usually get my VG on the bay.
It is a good idea to get nicotine it by the litre or as much as the piggy bank permits. One never knows when big bro will decide we can't have it...
Thanx again.

Thank you so much for the info.

Being new to the forum I wanted to get my first initial posts out of the way, so I posted two different questions.

I plan to buy 100mg nicotine base. Should I buy 100% VG or PG? I want to make it as simple as possible when using the calculator.

I went to RTS vapes website and looked real quick to see if they had a complete starter kit. Nude Nicotine had a starter kit for a $100, but I didn't like their flavor options. The starter kit includes:

-120mL 100mg/mL Nicotine Base (PG/VG Ratio is up to you!)

-500mL PG & 500mL VG (if you are a 100% VG user and would like us to substitute your PG for x2 VG, please just let us know in your order comments!)

-20 nitrile gloves

-1 pair safety glasses

-5 BD sterile 1mL, 5mL, & 10mL sterile syringes

-10 BD sterile 18g blunt-tipped needles

-5 – 14g XL blunt-tipped needles

-30 transfer pipettes

-5 – 50mL & 5 – 15mL conical tubes

-1 polypropylene conical vial rack

-5 – 10mL dropper bottles

-8 – 5mL concentrated flavorings

-60mL sweeteners! 30mL sucralose 10% in PG + 30mL ethyl maltol 10% in PG

-COMPLETE High-Resolution Nude Nicotine Test Kit – test your formulations for nicotine strength!

I'm sure some of this stuff I don't even need? So, what do I need?

Thanks for your help.
