no big plans for the weekend since i fly out to a conference Monday evening. Been spending most of my time prepping for a talk i"m giving and making sure everything else is in order before i go.

They made some fireworks legal in a few counties here, including mine. There are tents selling them EVERYWHERE. No rain and all those fireworks should make for a busy weekend for firefighters and law enforcement.

Good morning. It rained all night and has stopped now. I'll have to check the forecast but I think we are supposed to get more today.

Got back from Seville an hour or so ago, first time here but will plan to go back as it really is a nice big city.
The only problem with this city is that it can get really hot and humid, much cooler at home with the ocean breeze.

I got really mad at my cable company. I got my new bill in the mail and it was $25 higher. I guess my bundle price ran out and they tried to stick it to me. If my wife didn't insist on having a home phone then I'd switch to google fiber. I get so tired of having to haggle with the cable company every year when the bundle price ends. If it was like five dollars or something then I wouldn't be upset but twenty five for the same thing is ridiculous.

Hitt, change your home phone to a device called Ooma, google it. I switched to Ooma a year ago after 25 years with AT&T, basically getting ready for the move to Spain. Its internet based but works great, the device is about $100 and all I pay is around $4/month in taxes. I even kept my old number and it works from/to Spain like you are calling me in OK. Ms. PT could not of kept doing her job over here without it. Would be perfect with Google Fiber. Of course if internet goes down, no phone.

Good morning. I'll check that out PT. I'm happy with the service I get but am sick of getting the screws thrown to me each year when my bundle price runs out. Usually I can work them over and get close to the same price but the lady I got this year would hardly budge.

Fireworks last night me a wake a bit, but didn't bother the beasties. Now i won't worry about them as I try to see if i can see fireworks out of an airplane window tonight.
we need rain here, but i hope it either comes early or holds off one more day. I'd prefer to arrive in Baltimore at my scheduled 10pm time. Delays will make it extra far past my bedtime.

Safe travels CES. I'm smoking a pork shoulder and some potatoes for later. I wanted to cook yesterday and just warm it today but couldn't with all the rain.
