We are a small company and don’t really get a choice. My boss uses an insurance broker and they show him half a dozen options and he picks one based on price and benefits.
Good morning. Good for you PT. Health insurance has gotten ridiculous over the past several years. Every year it’s more expensive and covers less. My portion has gotten so expensive that I’ve considered looking for a policy on my own that covers hospitalization and little else and just pay for the doctor visits and prescriptions. I just don’t feel safe doing that.
I know. It's gotten to the point where my portion of the premium for my family is quite a bit more than I'm putting in my 401k. It has gotten really frustrating and I feel like I'm trapped. The only saving grace is that within the next 4-5 years the kids will be off of our policy.

Hi Fran. I’m taking it easy tonight. My youngest and I need to do a little Xmas shopping for my wife tomorrow. We are keeping it simple this year. No electronics or expensive gifts.
Good morning. We got the kids a few things but a lot less since they are older. We’re going to give some cash this year so they can either save or spend it. Their choice.
I just got back from shopping with my youngest. We kept it simple for my wife. That and I’ll put some spending money in a card for her and I’m done.
My wife talked me into going back out shopping again tonight. Im worn out.
