Good morning. Day 8000 of way too hot temperatures. My youngest starts back to college tomorrow. She only has one class to start so is just going to commute tomorrow. Two classes are online and the other one doesn’t start for a couple weeks. Once things pick up she’s going to stay with her boyfriend until we can find her an apartment or something. It’s ridiculous how much of a housing shortage there is there. The boyfriend is still a 30 minute drive to school but better than driving from here.

I know but I'd rather she have her own place closer to school. She's going to be there two years and he just has one left.
Well, it's a good thing she has the option of staying with her boyfriend. Gives you more time to find something.

I like the looks of that pod. Yeah, hopefully this housing thing starts to settle down.
I won’t get into it here but they broke up. We may have found a place for her that will rent by the month temporarily until we find her an apartment. My wife is going to drive her for her first day at school and they will go look at it while there. It’s this old mansion that these people from KC bought and have a restaurant on the ground floor and Airbnb upstairs. There’s a carriage house separate that they rent and the guy said they would rent it month to month for market value rather than the Airbnb price. It must not be renting regularly.
Thanks. We are going to rent the carriage house. My wife and daughter went to look at it yesterday. I'm taking off Wednesday to help her move in. It doesn't have a range but we bought her a hot plate and it has a microwave and a toaster oven already. The owner is going to give her a key to the laundry room in the main building so she can do laundry for free. The owner and his wife live in a house on the property with their two kids and two dogs. There's also a cat that wanders around that my daughter got to hold yesterday. It's really a nice place and too bad it's only temporary. We have her on a couple of waiting lists for apartments.
It’s only temporary until an apartment becomes available but takes a little of the pressure off of us.
