C'mon...the average vaper is unlikely to encounter the massive amounts of cotton dust in a manufacturing facility (and the subsequent years of exposure) required to induce symptoms. And if endotoxins are indeed the culprit then sterile cotton is even more safe.

That said, I can't taste the difference between silica and cotton myself (although if I use too much cotton in my wick I can taste it well beyond the initial few vapes). What I like about cotton (other than that it is incredibly inexpensive) is that it is so easy to change wicks on my micro-coils. Threading silica through a micro-coil is a royal pain in the patootie.

its just a paranoid necrosis. i mean u smoked cigs for years, didnt worry about the cyanide and thousands of other chemicals, and now u worry about breathing in wet cotton that i cant see how their is any dust? people need to relax!

I'm totally sold on cotton. I bought the organic cotton at my local walgreens. Wow! Here I was spending money on Ekowool and silica when I could just go down the street and get an incredible wicking experience. The ease of making micro coils and the way cotton is so easy to conform to certain builds is amazing and the freaking taste! My IGO-L is getting constant love now.

I do feel like I should be boiling my cotton first since it is "treated" with hydrogen peroxide, but I think it's ok.

COTTON COTTON COTTON COTTON COTTON COTTON!

I was using SS(mesh, rope) exclusively since I started vaping and was really satisfied with it. I tried cotton setups in my gennys and was blown away by the flavor and vapor production. After finishing a tank, its easy to dry burn coils, easy to make a new wick, change flavors and good to go. I have been using the same coil for over a week.

has anyone here had there ejuice lose flavor im not sure if its my taste buds bieng blown or if my stuff is losing flavor i only bring this up cuz its what made me try cotton in the first place
Yes but I think it's just me, not the juice. Because sometimes I can still taste it... then the flavor diminishes again.

Yesterday i remade some Kanger coils with cotton wicks - all of then came out tasting bad....not sure if I didnt wash my hands - or maybe washed em (lol) or mixing Bobas with Gorilla and J Tennessee was a bad idea - oh well - easy to rewick - soaking em in denture tabs (NO - i dont wear dentures - yet - bought em to see if they clean coils/tanks better) - and will rewick......

Soak the cotton in alcohol, let it dry, boil it, let it dry and wick it. If that doesnt kill all the bacteria then you have way more to worry about than brown lung.

Im pretty sure that exposing the bacteria to a burning hot coil will do the trick well I hope it does because I never bothered boiling and soaking the cotton I've used in the past that being said I've gone off cotton of late find that it gunks up stupidly quick and causes my protanks to flood meaning I have to change it more then I can be bothered with will admit flavour is simply the best I've ever tried but in my experience it doesn't last long after the wick starts charring and gunking

I have the same problem some times - and i have to check tonite - but i think if i leave thee cotton fluffy (used to have a dog by that name when i was a kiddo) PT floods - if i roll it tighter it does not flood as much....

I've went from cotton balls, to gauze, to cotton make-up pads to yarn. Like the yarn the best. I have a small screwdriver that when I wrap a micro coil, the yarn fits into the coil perfectly. Not too loose and not too tight, perfect. I usually do 8/9 wraps of 30 gauge and get 1.8Ω. I use almost the same coil (plus or minus wraps to adjust resistance) in my Igo-L, Aga-T2, mini RBA, Protank and Vivi Nova heads. Also the ability to switch wicks in less than a minute on my Igo-L is awesome.
