Hi to all you experienced Vapers cant wait to get some feedback.

I want to apologize ahead of this post as i will be tossing some words i have read on the interwebs and i am trying to use them correctly. All terms in bold and italicized are words i hope to use correctly. However, should i slaughter a word and use it completely incorrectly please feel free to correct me in a funny/abusive way as that is how i will learn.

I posted a pic of my mod, it is a Clone. That being said, the reason for which i bought this clone is listed here to hopefully avoid all berating to follow.

  1. I do not know all the different brands and pieces of equipment, so Google and YouTube videos were my teachers.
  2. It is ALOT cheaper.
  3. If and when i decide to make this a full time hobby (its too late to turn back now its sooooo good) i plan on investing in real name brand products, made in the USA not in China.

So now that all the disclaimers are out of the way here are all the questions i have (be gentle).
  1. I see that the Nemesis Clone has the capability to have 3 different battery types. My question, is the battery size directly related to size of cloud, throat burn, and amount of flavor?
  2. When it comes to Wick builds, i have see quite a few. Is there a build that allows for low maintenance and for great flavor? I have seen one that i am considering to go with but wanted more feedback on which is the Steel rope with EkoWool (saw it on a Youtube video).
  3. In the Nemesis Clone there are two holes on the top beauty ring, what are these for?
  4. Has anyone with the same build had a good experience with this build?

I know there will be more to follow, but i appreciate any feedback given. Thanks, cant wait to get this thing fired up.

  2. When it comes to Wick builds, i have see quite a few. Is there a build that allows for low maintenance and for great flavor? I have seen one that i am considering to go with but wanted more feedback on which is the Steel rope with EkoWool (saw it on a Youtube video). You will need to research on this as I'm using only normal type coils. You want to say coil built instead of wick builts.
  3. In the Nemesis Clone there are two holes on the top beauty ring, what are these for? I think they are air holes.
  4. Has anyone with the same build had a good experience with this build? See above.
Have fun researching.

Cheers

Hi there, I can't speak to all the hobby-building stuff, as I'm just a grandma enjoying vaping and not smoking, lol.:)

I did want to welcome you to the forum and congratulate you on doing this good thing for yourself. There are lots of like-minded folks here who share your enthusiasm for the wonderful world of vaping. You will get lots of help and good advice.:)

You really can't beat a micro coil and cotton for low maintenance and great flavor. This build is nice because you don't have to rip out the coil when it gets dirty. You just pull out the cotton, dryfire, and add more cotton. PBusardo and Rip Trippers have both done great tutorials on this build.

The larger batteries last longer and generally have a higher safe max continuous amp output. That just means that if you build a really low resistance coil, it is more likely to be safe with a larger battery. Since you are looking for good flavor, you probably want to keep the resistance in the 1.5 ohm range anyway, so the smaller batteries will be safe.

  1. I do not know all the different brands and pieces of equipment, so Google and YouTube videos were my teachers. we all started somewhere
  2. It is ALOT cheaper. It is
  3. If and when i decide to make this a full time hobby (its too late to turn back now its sooooo good) i plan on investing in real name brand products, made in the USA not in China. FYI, I only know of the Provari regulated mod (a regulated battery) that is made in the USA. Some of the better made products to get are Greek, German and Russian

So now that all the disclaimers are out of the way here are all the questions i have (be gentle).
  1. I see that the Nemesis Clone has the capability to have 3 different battery types. My question, is the battery size directly related to size of cloud, throat burn, and amount of flavor? The battery only effects battery life but you should do some reading on what batteries are used for what. Some batteries are for mech mods and sub ohming and others are for regulated batteries and etc
  2. When it comes to Wick builds, i have see quite a few. Is there a build that allows for low maintenance and for great flavor? I have seen one that i am considering to go with but wanted more feedback on which is the Steel rope with EkoWool (saw it on a Youtube video). You need Kanthal wire specifically and the higher the number, the thinner the wire but higher the resistance. This was explained to me well as getting water out by either a straw or a hose..........hose is thicker. Cotton is an easier and cheaper try and personally, unless you are very mechanical, IMO, a single micro coil may be a good start. Look for ohm ratings about 1.5-1.9 is for a first run
  3. In the Nemesis Clone there are two holes on the top beauty ring, what are these for? Air, it is needed to get air flow to the battery and cool it
  4. Has anyone with the same build had a good experience with this build?

I know there will be more to follow, but i appreciate any feedback given. Thanks, cant wait to get this thing fired up.

Read up on battery safety, storage, charging, ohms law, resistance and buy an ohm meter...........and understand it fully before getting started.

I think you will find that most people here are quite accepting of clones. If anything, most of us are keeping the clone shops in business.

BTW, nice Nemesis. Looks like my Hcigar.

  1. Yes. Sort of.

At least I am not aware of any 30amp IMR batteries that are smaller than 18650.

IF you are subohming at very, very low subohm levels, then it will matter. I, and pretty much everyone else here would highly advise you do a LOT of research on safe subohming before even thinking about doing it yourself.

If you use a Kick or keep your coils at about 1.3ohm or higher then the size doesn't matter a bit. TYPE DOES THOUGH!

[*]When it comes to Wick builds, i have see quite a few. Is there a build that allows for low maintenance and for great flavor? I have seen one that i am considering to go with but wanted more feedback on which is the Steel rope with EkoWool (saw it on a Youtube video).

That my friend, is purely subjective and entirely up to your personal preference. You've just got to try them all and find what works best for you.

[*]In the Nemesis Clone there are two holes on the top beauty ring, what are these for?

They are air holes. The Nemesis has adjustable airflow for bottom feeder tanks. There are also two dimples on the thin ring below it. If both holes are aligned with the dimples then the airflow is fully opened. One hole is half closed. Neither hole is fully closed (but there is still some airflow through the mod).

[*]Has anyone with the same build had a good experience with this build?

Very little in regards to coil building. Unfortunately I got a KFL before I got an RDA to practice on, so I have only built a couple of coils. Currently running a pretty basic 1.3ohm single coil with cotton wick. Wanting to try some more, just need the time to go buy something to practice with.
