Holy Variable Voltage!!

vape mail arrived and I am not disappointed. All my HHV juices are tucked away seeping except the bit of RY4 I snuck to test out my Kanger Protank 2. Can I just say I am so glad I upgraded to a Vision Spinner 1300 mah battery holy throat hit and smoke production I feel like I'm taking [moderated] minus the obvious:D

Now of course I have all these voltage questions with different atomizer head ohms since I hear certain combos aren't safe and are bad for the battery. I have read ohm's law threads and seen differing opinions but the insert that came with the tank shows suggested ranges- I like my voltage a bit higher than what is suggested for these heads......how bad is this, lol?? I also ordered replacement heads and think the ohm's are too low at 1.8 especially realizing my sweet spot is 4.3 volts. I also am reading for different juices different volts will be preferred so now I am really stumped. Am I really supposed to change heads depending on my voltage sweet spot?? Any direction is appreciated but hopefully this powerhouse of a system kills my obnoxious urges a bit more:)

Don't make it any more complicated than it needs to be. ;)
Turn the dial up if you want a hotter vape and more vapor production, turn it down if you want less. When dropping a new clearo on it, turn it down for the first couple of hits and then start adjusting up.

Turn it down if you get a burned hit :)

The lower the ohm rating*, the less voltage you'll need to get hotter vapes. I use 1.8-2.5, but usually stick to the bottom of that scale.

(sorry, electrically unchallenged folks :) )

Baditude got here before I did, and now Baby Jesus weeps.

The red parts of that chart may or may not mean anything, depending on what you're using.
I vape at 10 watts, but I use atomizers, and I think that chart was made for cartomizers or something.

The chart was created for beginners as a general guideline to use single coil cartomizers. It can also apply to clearomizers.

As more novices see this chart, you'll notice the number of "likes" this chart always gets. It is an easy way for novices to get an idea between the relationship between ohms, voltage, and wattage - instead of presenting an Ohm's Law formula which immediately turns me off. Advanced or more experienced vapors eventually learn what they can get away with by going outside the recommended range shown in the chart.

An atomizer has no polyfiller that can burn, so you can go higher in voltage than with a cartomizer.

The best answers have already been given. That chart is very handy. I will add a few things form my experience.

With a new coil start low and go up till you are comfortable with it. Don't worry if you forget to turn it down and start getting a burnt hit, just turn it down, rarely is any real damage done by one or two burnt hits.

The scale showed is also only a suggesting and there are exceptions to the rule. I've notice fruity flavors are better lower and tobaccos are better higher. However a lot of this is subjective to taste.Don't worry too much about following charts exactly.

A bit of common sense like not running max volts on a 2.4 coil and following you tastebuds and you should be fine.

woohoo! VV rocks. =) glad youre happy!

i just wanted to say.. a lot of people recommend the 'low resistance' EVOD/Protank coils (1.8ohm), but i found that on a twist, the 2.4ohm coils put me right in the middle of the dial at 4.0v, which is where i want to be- some room to adjust up, some room to adjust down. the 1.8's, i could not get down low enough, i was at 3.2 on the twist and cant go any lower and it still was too hot for me. i guess youll soon find out for yourself... i'd be interested to know your experience with it.

Your voltage sweet spot isn't a stationary thing. If you leave your spinner at X volts and you find that you enjoy X.X ohms, then of course you'll need to buy X.X ohm heads. If you are willing to crank your voltage up or down, then of course you can buy Y.Y heads. Your voltage sweet spot is dependent on the resistance of your atty coils. Usually you can add 2 volts to the 1st number of the resistance of your heads and you'll be in a good area, give or take a couple 0.1 voltage increments. Enjoy the vape jouney home skillet.

... And that's a great example of personal preference and the different liquids take different power settings.
I like the 1.8 heads, and keep my voltage around 3.7 for some flavors, and on up to 4.2-4.3 for others.

When I first started vaping, I was content with the standard ego voltage and 2.5ohm clearos until I found out how much the extra power could unlock flavor!

That is what is shocking me my juices all taste so different, feel different, and produce so much more vapor I am in love- no more stationary batteries for me:)

Just look at the chart and cross reference your coil Ohms to your Voltage to get the Watts.
The Watts you see is your Sweet Spot, not the Volts

Set any ohm coil to that Watt reading and you should have very close to the same results. That is why I prefer VW, no calculation - set and forget, or minor adjustment at most.:)

Even have a kick set to 7 watts in my Sigelei #20, swapped from a Boge 1.7ohm carto to a MT3 @ 2.8ohms - Boom, right on the mark:D

OK this just confuses the heck out of me lol.. What are the numbers on the chart? I understand the side is ohm and top is voltage but what do the numbers in the middle represent? I got a provari in Feb for valentines day and I use the Kanger pro tank 2 with 2.2 ohm and vape at 3.5 it has a range if 2.8 thru 6.0 any suggestions on getting the best throat hit and most vape? I mean don't get me wrong I absolutely love my provari I was using the halo triton system before this which is what I started on and it was great too just a lot more quality in the provari I feel. I think really any mod would be great but I'm still kind of a noob only vaping since August 27 th 2013 so any suggestions, advice, comments, critisizing its all welcome  :D

What are the numbers on the chart?
The numbers on the chart are watts (power) which is what vaping is all about...
Ohm's Law Calculator

...any suggestions on getting the best throat hit and most vape?
The higher the watts the more throat hit and vapor.

So that means low ohms and high wattage.
Just turn it up until it starts to taste burnt or unpleasant.

You are the judge of that.
And your judgement may vary for each and every juice you use.

The Vision Spinner 1300mah battery is my wife's favorite. (For the record, I've offered to buy her anything she wants, Provari? Reo? Nope, she likes her Spinners.)

Best advice for finding the sweet spot, start with Bad's chart and adjust up and down till it seems "just right" for you. And yes, different juices have different "sweet spots" - I like my tobaccos with more voltage, but my fruits and teas at a lower voltage. Depends on the juice.

The numbers in the chart are Watts. All you need to know is that if you are in the yellow, you probably don't have enough power for a good vape; if you are in the green, everything is a-okay; and if you are in the red, you might pop your coil. Stay in the green and you will be okay. You may find (see my post above) that some juices are good in the high end of the yellow, but this is highly subjective. Staying out of the red is probably a good idea.
